We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Hi. I have undergone route canal treatment for one my tooth. Wanted to know is waring tooth cap is mandatory? or is it fine without cap.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Cap is not mandatory in all cases. If your tooth can be restored by normal filling only, you dont require cap. If tooth is badly decayed and not in state of filling, you require a cap for extra strength.

Dear lybrate user! It is must to wear retainer after dental brace removal for adequate time. The main purpose of using orthodontic retainer is to stable the teeth moved in new place with the help of orthodontic braces. So don't use a repaired retainer due to loss of it's ability to perfectly retain your orthodonticaly moved teeth. Ask your orthodontist for new retainer. You can also ask your orthodontist for wire free retainer with teeth slot in it. It is more comfortable than wired retainer.

All individuals requires scaling (cleaning) to be done atleast once in 6 months to maintain our oral hygiene clean. Our toothbrush is not much finely designed to clean all the plaque and calculi in the interdental areas of the teeth, which is the area where most of the calculus accumulate much and has to be removed regularly using scalers by the dentist.

I have a small gap between front upper incisors. What is the best treatment to close the gap. Gap is very small.
Thanks for your query. The gaps between the teeth can be closed by getting orthodontic treatment done or tooth color filling material like composite depending upon the condition of your teeth. Take care.

Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

Sensitivity Problem What to do?

Hi, use any sensitive toothpaste like thermoseal RA. Apply it with finger on all teeth esp the sensitive ones, leave it for 5 minutes & then brush with the same. Also you should get your teeth screened for any cuts or abrasions due to hard brushing as they can also cause sensitivity in teeth.

You need to consult a good dentist & get evaluation done as bleeding gums can cause problems later on. If their are calculus deposits then you need to get complete oral scaling done.
