First of all animal milk should not be given till 6months of age.If mother has some milk secretion then check her nutritional status.Give her iron, calcium supplements and wholesome diet that is rice, daal, green vegetables, sprouts, fruits, milk, curd. This will help to increase milk secretion. The most important thing is that the baby should continue sucking.Sucking is must for uninterrupted secretion of milk.If there is no milk since long time then you can use lactogen -1 milk formula till 6 months of age.

I have one daughter and her weight is 13 KG and age is 3.5 years Weight is okay or not as per age.

Weight is reasonably okay by age. At 3 and a half years most indian children weigh between 12 and 15 kgs. So, 13.5 is fine, but she can be better off by adding a kilo or so. But you don't need to worry at this weight.

When Will My Newborn Start Teething?

When Will My Newborn Start Teething?

Tooth eruption is not only a sign that your child is acquiring the ability to tear, bite, and chew food but it also effects the baby's weight gain, immunity strengthening and development of the brain indirectly.

It is observed that most babies get their first tooth at around 6 months after birth, but they may start gnawing as early as 3 months or as late as 14, and may vary from child to child.  This depends on many factors, one of them being as when the parents started sprouting teeth and whether or not your baby was a preemie. In case of premature and low birth weight babies there may be a delay in their first tooth eruption. Children should have a full set of primary teeth by the time they are almost three.

Babies generally undergo the following Teething Timeline:

  • 6 months: lower central incisors

  • 8 months: upper central incisors

  • 10 months: lower and upper lateral incisors

  • 14 months: first molars

  • 18 months: canines

  • 24 months: second molars

Symptoms of Teething:

  • Babies start gnawing to relieve the pain of an emerging tooth.

  • Puffy and red gums

  • Excessive drooling

  • Irritation, especially at night

  • Tugging Ear

  • A change in eating habits

Methods to Soothe the Pain:

Teething is a physiological process, no major intervention is needed.

  • Distraction: You can often soothe your child simply by diverting their minds off the pain by any new toy.

  • You shouldn't use teethers and topical teething gels to soothe the pain as they might be toxic to babies.

Symptoms of teething usually disappear when the tooth breaks through the gum. In case your baby is teething and the pain prevails , the following signs and symptoms are seen - high fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, highly inflamed gums or blue gum (Cysts) or any kind of lesion or bumps on the gums. In such case you should consult the pediatrician for further guidance.

Dear Sir, You need to show your son to a neurologist & also get a thorough hearing test done to know exact degree & type of hearing loss. We can also try amplification device if it works with your son, Its advisable to get him to the clinic so that we can check thoroughly. Take curry leaves soup daily twice this will helps you keep typhoid away. Start taking more fruits and coconut milk which helps to maintain alkalinity in your body and also reduces typhoid ulcers.

My 5 month baby vomiting by drinking formula but not breast milk what should I do?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

My 5 month baby vomiting by drinking formula but not breast milk what should I do?
Dear Lybrate user, some time baby don't like to take formula milk so they vomit out. If mother is having proper milk secretion there is no need to give formula milk. And if not than you can give goat milk or cow milk. Before giving these milk you have to dilute it (add water). For any other query, consult me.

Dear , you have heard correctly, babies can pass 8 -10 motions daily or pass a motion after 2-3 days. Both patterns are normal, as long as the motion is soft and formed, i. E, between very loose and very hard. Make sure you feed him at a gap of at least 3 hours, and only your feeds.

General Physician,
My baby is 1.5 month old, he is passing green stool, he is on formula and breast milk both.
You have to stop the formula and if it is given in bottle you must stop bottle feeding and give it with spoon or a sipper . Give only breastmilk for a healthy baby
