If you do gym or workout you have to take extra protein in diet because it will help you to build muscle and in gaining weight.You can use whey protein or other nutritional protein supplement along with protein foods like fish,egg,lean meat,yogurt,mushroom,tofu,cottage cheese.take almond,walnut,pumpkin seeds,sunflower seeds,hemp seeds.Use healthy fat like olive,canola,fish oil.Use dense fruits,vegetables,unrefined foods.Avoid fast foods,junk foods.Avoid smoking,alcohol.

Hello,Homoeopathic medicines are less invasive and have more herbal approach towards gaining the weight. My wife faces too much stress. She is telling she is hearing a sound some one speaking about her. She always telling that my neighbor house people is talking like that. She feels insecure feeling. We already went to psychologist and he given some tables to reduce stress after initial counseling. Doctor told me that some liquid in brain produced more. Nearly 4 weeks medicine she took, first two weeks she was in her sisters house, she feels better there, before one week we came to our house. Here also for first 5 - 6 days she was quit. But for last 2-3 days, she is telling the same. What I do now sir. I Know that no such sound is hearing by me. I want to bring out my wife from this situation. Please help me.

It sounds like there is more to this than has been identified so far. Please seek a second opinion from another psychiatrist and she must go for counseling too along with the medication. It is the combination of these two therapies that she can get the best results. She will need to take her parents along to identify any childhood influences and for genetic factors too. She will need a lot of your support and careful monitoring to really help her through this.

Yes you can join gym.Till 60 years people can join gym.Along with gym you have to follow proper balanced diet.Avoid fast foods,junk foods,processed foods.Eat plenty of fruits,vegetables,unprocessed foods.Take more protein with workout.Use healthy fat.Use nuts,seeds.Drink lots of water and take proper rest.

Best and safe to gain weight are milk, ice cream, banana, egg, sleep more than 8yrs, stress free work, meat, dal etc. Preferable time for breakfast 8-8.30am lunch 12.30-1pm evening snack 4.30-5.30pm dinner at 8.30-9pm. Sleep minimum one hr after dinner. Don't take unsafe food or protein products available in the market without the consultation of doctor.

Increase Food Intake: Increasing the amount of food you eat is the most basic way for you to gain weight. It can either be an increase in the number of meals you eat each day or the quantity of food eaten in each meal. Gaining weight can be just as hard as losing it. I have detected decompensated cirrhosis of liver with moderate ascites, I had admitted in the hospital for 5 days, at present I have GI ENDOSCOPY and USG the report is normal. Only plain ascites seen. I am taking one aldactone 100 mg after breakfast and one neurobion fort after dinner. Please advice me diet and medicine for the doses. Thanks.

Hi lybrate-user first of all just hang on brother and never get disheartened by the negative things that we doctors keep on telling patients. Cirrhosis is chronic progressive condition and decompensation means that the condition is showing complications- which in your case is obviously ascites. Most importantly and I cannot overemphasize this more- do not take salt more than 2gms in a day. Your ascites will increase with more salt. Avoid pickles, processed foods, ketchups, chutneys, infact anything that comes out of a packet or bottle has salt as preservative- so that amounts to invisible salt of your diet. Second, take less water. Only 500 to 600 ml more than your urine output. In hospitals we measure that output but at home - we can not. But you can be aware. Take green leafy vegetables- they are good source of vit k. Or you can ask your doctor for vit k inj supplementation. Do not stress. Tc.

Hye. Thanks for the query. Healthy eating for fitness and stamina 1. Base your meals on starchy foods: bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, noodles Choose whole grains, roti, bhakri, unpolished rice and potatoes with skin where possible which have more fibre, vitamins and minerals. Remember carbohydrate rich foods contain fewer than half the calories of fats per gram 2. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables: Choose a variety of fruit and vegetables as they contain different combinations of vitamins and minerals. Soups and fruit juices all count! Try grating vegetables like carrots and cabbage into parathas or add lots of vegetables to khichdis. 3. Eat more healthy fats - aim for at least two portions per week of nuts Include also oily fish like salmon, fresh tuna, sardines, mackerel and trout. 4. Cut down on saturated fat and sugar Although we need some fat in our diet (to provide the essential fatty acids and aid the absorption of the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K), too much fat may lead to weight gain. Replace saturated fats from butter, pastries, cream, pies and cheese with unsaturated fats found in vegetable oils, nuts, seeds, oily fish. Too much sugar, especially between meals can increase risk of tooth decay and will add extra calories so limit your added sugar intake! If you get a sweet craving try having fruit instead. 5. Eat less salt, adults should eat no more than 6 g per day. A high salt intake is associated with altered lipid profile, high blood pressure. Most of our salt intake comes from processed foods rather than salt added during cooking or at the table, so always check food labels for the salt content. Try using extra herbs, spices, citrus juices (lemon and lime), mustard or vinegar to flavour foods so you can use less salt in your recipes. 6. Get active and be a healthy weight! Ideally, 150 minutes of moderate intensity or 75 minutes vigorous intensity physical activity and muscle strength training on at least two days per week. Moderate intensity activities include cycling or brisk walking. High or vigorous intensity activities include swimming and running. Muscle strengthening activities include weight lifting, exercises with weights or carrying heavy boxes or groceries. Physical activity can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke and help maintain a healthy weight. 7. Don’t get thirsty Aim for 8-10 glasses of fluid per day. Water is the best choice as it hydrates you without adding any extra calories to your daily intake. Most types of drink count including water, tea, coffee, soft drinks, milk, fruit juice and smoothies, but try to avoid added sugar in your drinks as this can increase risk of dental decay. Alcohol does not count because it makes you pass urine more frequently and contributes to dehydration rather than hydration. 8. Don’t skip breakfast A healthy breakfast can provide fibre, calories, vitamins and minerals important for health. Choose wholegrain cereals, porridge or wholemeal toast, roti, poha, rawa, with fruit for a healthy start to the day. 9. Avoid alcohol and smoking. 10. Get good sleep.

The word ‘fat’ in itself is very alarming. Body fat or weight is the topic of concern for most people today. Due to the lack of physical activities these day’s people tend to gain weight at a faster rate. Long working hours, which involves sitting in front of computers, have lead to the increase in belly size. ‘Pot belly’ or ‘beer belly’ are just few names with which it is known. Abdominal Crunches: • Lay down flat on the floor. • Bend the knees with feet on the floor. • Place your hands by the side of your ears. • Take a deep breath. • Crunch up lifting the head and chest a bit. The aim is to try and touch the knees with the forehead. But do not try to do it in the first attempt. Give your body some time. • Now move down gradually, exhaling the air. Descending movement must be slower than the crunch up movement. Repeat the steps 5 to 10 times some tips • Squeeze a lemon in a cup of warm water. Drink this water as soon as you get up in the morning. Drink lots of water throughout the day, keep yourself well hydrated. • Drink green tea in the morning. It has antioxidants that help the body to burn fat and detoxify. Eliminate all juice (except natural pomegranate juice) and soft drinks from your diet. Drink only 1 cup of coffee a day. • Avoid junk food at all cost. • Start exercising. Do ½ hour to 45 minutes of cardio, preferably walking on an incline every day. Do light weight training for upper body three times a week. • Snack on a small amount of almonds (5 at a time) throughout the day (4 times a day maximum).

For gaining a healthy weight Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong, chana,Dal, rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit.
