Hi, gums around my right lower wisdom teeth has swollen up since 2 3 days and its paining .even my right cheek is swelled .m gaggling with warm salt water with Colgate mouthwash but neither swollen not pain is lessening please suggest some quick remedies.

Hello lybrate-user, an erupting wisdom tooth is often associated with pain, swelling, restricted mouth opening etc. Most commonly it is because of infection of the gums surrounding the erupting tooth. I will advise you to visit an oral surgeon/dentist who will most likely prescribe you a short course of antibiotic & pain killers. In the mean time do warm saline rinses and try to keep good oral hygiene by regular brushing. All the best.

Hi lybrate-user WEIGHT GAIN It is not a good idea to eat mega-meals at fast food joints or high- in- fat foods to gain weight. An effort like this will increase your body fat, putting you at risk for health problems. Rather work on improving the quality of your diet. Focus on eating healthy, growing strong and staying fit. Try eating six small healthy meals per day. Include 2 to 3 servings of fruits and vegetables in the day. Drink juice and smoothies made with milk and fresh fruit. Snack on dried fruit and nuts and high-fiber savories. If you are an exerciser, eat before and after workouts, and keep yourself hydrated. Here are some ideas: •Use whole fat dairy products such as whole milk, regular cheese and yogurt, cottage cheese. •Modify Cooking: Experiment by adding almonds to salads, cashews to a trail mix, or granola to yogurt. •Use "Extras" Try mixing in Ovaltine or almonds with a glass of milk. Add dried fruit or granola to yogurt. Mix in nuts, such as cashews or almonds to salads, trail mixes or cottage cheese. •Increase portion size gradually: Slowly try to increase the overall volume of the food at each meal, starting with one meal. For example, try adding one food item to a typical breakfast such as - add some fruit to cereal and milk. Then try increasing the amount of cereal. Once portions have increased over a few days at breakfast, add more to dinner or lunch. •Small meals of nutrient dense foods which you enjoy – this optimizes the smaller stomach capacity and provides structure. •Liquid supplements taken with or between meals – milk with complain, fruit milkshake… this is especially imp when it is necessary to overcome the lack of interest in food and eating. •Get adequate exercise and sleep/ rest How much weight can I target to increase? Usually 1-2 pounds per week is a safe and healthy weight gain goal. Most people do not gain exactly the same amount of weight per week. As long as the overall trend during the course of several weeks to a month is weight gain, you are moving in the right direction. 1. Make nutrition your mission. Eating a variety of healthy foods, making time for regular meals and snacks. Good nutrition is a key part of growth and development. It's also wise to learn good eating habits now — they'll become second nature, which will help you stay healthy and fit without even thinking about it. Eating on a schedule can help 2. Keep on moving (unless you are weak). Another way to keep your body healthy is to incorporate exercise into your routine. You might choose to work out at a gym. A good rule of thumb for exercise: Try to get 30 minutes of moderate physical activity 3 to 5 days a week. 3. Get enough sleep and rest. Sleep is an important component of normal growth and development. If you get enough, you'll have the energy to fuel your growth. Your body is at work while it sleeps — oxygen moves to the brain, growth hormones are released, and your bones keep on developing, even while you're resting.

Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. 5. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

I have problem of paining in periods. 5 days of periods you can't go out of pain because of so much of stress and pain.

Dear, stomach pain occurs during periods is due to contraction of muscles of uterus. For take relief follow these methods: * take i/3 rd piece of ginger boil it in one glass of water, when half glass water remain then take it with one teaspoon of ajwayin. * use warm water bottle put it on your stomach area with wrap in the towel. * take rest properly do not do hard work. *do running and jogging daily for 5 to 10 minutes. Do not do running and jogging before 7 days from periods coming date. * do massage with lukewarm mustard oil around area below stomach and back.

Hi, I am suffering from ulcerative colitis disease is there any permanent remedy? What should be my food habits?

Hello, The only permanent remedy for ùlcerative colitis is total colon removal through surgery. With medication the problem can be controlled and not everyone requires colon removal. There are no specific dietary restrictions. Avoid outside food. During an acute attack milk should be avoided.

Hi Everyone. My wife have taken two tests, one on the 3rd day when she missed her period and one five days after (in the morning). Both are negative. She has small constant cramps in lower abdomen and backaches. Today Morning she noticed a drop of spotting spotting with white discharge but not heavy, only one drop. Can She be pregnant despite the negative test results? Do I need to wait for few more days or you want me to consult with DR's? I appreciate any response to this question.

The right time of getting the pregnancy test done is 1 week after the missed period (or expected date of menstrual date) as the hormone responsible for making the pregnancy test positive is excreted in urine then only! If a patient has fever with rigors and vomiting also which drugs should be used to check vomiting along with chloroquine phosphate? Can ondansetron be used in combination with chloroquine phosphate ?

1.Fever with rigors can be due to so many reasons like urinary tract infection, malaria etc. 2.Don't take chloroquine without checking your blood for MP. Chloroquine can have side effects. 3.It has to be used judiciously under docctor's prescription. 4.ondansetron can be used to control vomiting after taking chloroquine but should only be used after consulting doctor 5.avoid self medication

You can wash the hair with a paste made from neem leaves. This is particularly effective for hair loss caused due excessive build up of scalp oil or invasive skin infections. For restoring the alkaline balance of the scalp and preventing hair fall, you can follow this with washing the hair with apple cider vinegar. Other homemade pastes that can be very useful include a mixture prepared from adding honey and olive oil to some cinnamon (dalchini) powder.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

My wife is having irregular periods. 1 year back visited doctor and found that thyroid level was high. Then after taking thyronorm it is now 0.26. But still she is not getting period on time. Hello, I hope PCOD has also been ruled out already in her case besides hypothyroidism. The thyroid levels are normal now on medication, so you ca try to conceive but do not leave thyroxine.
