What are the symptoms of dengue fever.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS

What are the symptoms of dengue fever.
The principal symptoms of dengue are: -high fever and at least two of the following: -severe headache -severe eye pain (behind eyes) -joint pain -muscle and/or bone pain -rash -mild bleeding manifestation (nose or gum bleed, petechiae, or easy bruising) Watch for warning signs as temperature declines 3 to 5 days after symptoms/fever began, as this is the most dangerous period when platelet counts decline significantly. For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and for dry cough I will suggest you to take syp adulsa 5 ml and can repeat after a gap of six hours as and when required and few things related to headache so that we can plan the treatment accordingly - if pain is associated with blurred or decreased vision than check your eye sight for refractive error - if the pain is associated with cold and fever than we have to rule out sinusitis as the cause and if the pain is pulsatile in nature and with a throbbing pain usually with an aura than we have to rule out migrane as the cause - if the pain is associated with neck problems than we have to rule out cervical spondylosis as the cause - if the pain is associated with either low or high bp or due to hyperacidity than we have to treat the cause after examination.

Hi , Lifestyle habits can go a long way to help reduce the number and severity of headache. A consistent sleep pattern and regular exerciseand meals are important. Here are some lifestyle changes that may help: Sleep. Setting a consistent sleep schedule may help reducing headache. Go to bed and get up about the same time every day, including weekends and holidays. Disruptions to your sleep schedule, getting too much or too little sleep, can trigger a headache. Exercise regularly. You may be tempted to avoid exercise, afraid it might trigger a headache. And, although overexertion may trigger a headache in some people, research suggests regular, moderate aerobic exercise may reduce the severity, duration, and number of episodes in many people. Regular exercise also helps control stress, another migraine trigger. Eat regular meals. Regular meals are important to maintain level blood sugar. A drop in blood sugar can trigger a headache. Also drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, which can trigger headache. Limit stress. For many headache sufferers, stress is a common trigger. Take time each day for a relaxation break. Find something that you enjoy that helps you relax. For example: •Listen to calming music •Take a short walk •Meditate •Do yoga.

Hi! does it possible to get pregnant if we do unprotected sex 3 days before her periods?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Sometimes periods get delayed due to late egg formation. Period timing gets lengthened. Pregnancy can happen if there is such an unusual delay in ovulation. But if her last 6 cycles were regular then the chance of this happening is very less.

Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance... if you keep in touch personally. You can consult me with all details here by Lybrate site

Please take rhus tox 200 - thrice daily for next 3-4 days. Also -- soak a washcloth in cool tap water, wring out the excess water and then sponge areas like your armpits, feet, hands and groin to reduce the temperature. Also, you can place cold, damp washcloths on your forehead and the back of your neck. The cloth pieces should be changed regularly after a few minutes. This remedy is beneficial when dealing with a high fever as it helps keep temperature under control. You can also take a bath in lukewarm water to relax your body. Taking a shower, however, may not be a good idea. Plus, needless to say, take as much rest as possible as it helps the body fight the illness. Note: do not use very cold water as it may cause the internal body temperature to increase.

So, apply sunscreen (Homoeopathic SUNCARE cream of BAKSON Company) , every time you go out and follow the recipes below in order to get relief from dark spots. Instead of using the chemical products for your skin, try using some natural home remedies. Apply this mixture on the face and wash it off after 15 minutes. The results are quite good.

I have 10 years work exp, had planned to start a business but investors ditched. Now it' s been a year I am not able to find a job. Sometime I feel worthless. I was at a senior post, but now no one wants me. I am not getting any job. It' s become a hell living like this.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
I think the first mistake you made was to quit your job without checking whether investors are interested to put in money. Now the deed or misdeed is done and we need to look at how to get on with life. There may be a problem with the business idea you floated for investors not to pitch in. So my request is to abandon the idea and seek an alternative. There are so many online job sites that are flooded with job offers, quite regularly. Please register with all of them. It does not help if you are unemployed for over a year. Nevertheless, you must apply and keep persevering. There are other network opportunities that is worth considering and involves initial investment that can be recovered very fast and you can earn more and above, if you work sincerely. It does not require any qualification or experience. Yet it is very remunerative if you have a sincere commitment and can put in a few hours of time and hard work. If you are interested, you can contact me for further details.
