I sweat too much from my childhood. Specially in upper body like head, forehead, neck. Please help me out to get rid of this. And I drink water too much. Isn't it because of consuming much water?

MBBS
General Physician, Cuttack
Excessive sweating could be due to 1. Anxiety, nervousness 2 obesity, diabetes, thyroid problem, 3. Alcoholism or due to effect of some anti hypertensive and psychiatric drugs 4. Investigate yourself to rule out these diseases 5. Avoid anxiety, nervousness, tea/coffee, alcohol, spicy food, chocolate etc 6. Try some anti antiperspirant lotion or roll on. 7. Consult skin specialist for advice.

Headache - 5 Common Types & Affects!

Headache - 5 Common Types & Affects!

One of the most common neurological conditions men and women suffer from is a headache. Headaches usually vary in terms of location, intensity and duration and may be treated with simple home remedies or over the counter medications. One of the most renowned types of headache is known as a migraine. Other common types of headaches include sinus headaches and tension headaches.

  1. Migraines: Migraines are very painful headaches that may be accompanied by a feeling of nausea, vomiting, increased sensitivity to light and a pounding pain in the head. They are caused by a change in concentration of neurotransmitters in the brain which in turn make blood vessels expand thereby bringing on a migraine.
  2. Tension headaches: The pain of a tension headache is considered mild or moderate in comparison to migraines. This type of headache is characterised by throbbing pain on both sides of the head and pain in the neck and behind the eyes. Tension headaches are caused by the contraction of muscles in the head and neck.
  3. Cluster headaches: Cluster headaches are characterised by a series of short yet intense headaches that may occur every day or several weeks or months. In most cases, they recur on a seasonal basis i.e., people tend to get them at the same time of the year. The pain caused by cluster headaches may be more severe than that of a migraine but these headaches do not last as long. They are caused by the activation of a specific nerve pathway that is responsible for facial sensations. Cluster headaches are the most uncommon type of headaches.
  4. Rebound headaches: In most cases, a headache can be cured with over the counter remedies. However, excessive or incorrect use of these medications can cause a rebound headache. These medications may trigger another headache when their effect wears off. This makes the person retake the medicine leading to a vicious cycle. Rebound headaches are most often caused by medicines that contain caffeine.
  5. Secondary headaches: While the above types of headaches are categorised as primary headaches, a headache that is caused by another condition is known as a secondary headache. Secondary headaches are commonly caused by severe hypertension, sinusitis, pharyngitis and other types of head trauma. Tumours, subdural hematoma or other conditions that take up space in the head can also cause secondary headaches. Secondary headaches are a greater cause for concern than primary headaches and should not be ignored. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Neurosurgeon.

I have a tight penal foreskin. Is this a problem. Are there any remedies other than circumcision. Pls advice. Thank you.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist,
I have a tight penal foreskin. Is this a problem. Are there any remedies other than circumcision. Pls advice. Thank you.
If it is very tight and you cannot roll the skin back in NON erect stage, then circumcision is the ONLY answer. Circumcision doesnt mean cutting off of ALL The skin, You can opt for partial circumcision where the surgeon will just cut the prepuce enough for the rolling to be easy....... If you can roll the prepuce backpartially to expose the head of the penis. Then you can try using lubricants and try to roll it back.....if you succeed then you will have to practice this rolling and unrolling EVERYDAY to keep it supple and prevent the prepuce from re-stenosing

Dear lybrate-user, hbsag is the surface antigen for hepatitis b virus. Let me be very clear on this hepatitis b is a type of virus which affects the liver. In many cases it gets cured on its own but still the hbsag remains in the blood stream, you can check other antigens like hbcag etc or do a pcr for hepatis b virus which will let you know the actual concentration of the virus in the system. Having said so many patients remain asymptomatic post hepatitis b acute infection, the surface antigen in the blood keeps them as carrier. Please report what other symptoms your wife is having, especially does she have jaundice i. E. Yellow coloration of eyes, skin etc or any other symptom. Also share the other blood reports. Do not worry, every thing will be fine.

Hello, Some primary headaches can be triggered by lifestyle factors, including: Alcohol, particularly red wine Certain foods, such as processed meats that contain nitrates Changes in sleep or lack of sleep Poor posture Skipped meals Stress insufficient sleep or rest Overexertion Nutritional deficiencies A secondary headache is a symptom of a disease that can activate the pain-sensitive nerves of the head. You cannot decrease the size to normal. Every prostate increased with age. You have to do surgery based on your response to medicine, symptoms and usg report. Also important is the prostate specific antigen report. Send me your usg report to be able to comment.
