Dear lybrate-user, ischemic heart disease can run in families due to a condition called as dysfunctional endothelium which has a genetic origin. Although you are too young to worry about it but please do not neglect cardiac symptom. Ensure you do not have too much fatty food. Every year get a lipid profile and blood sugar level done. Parallel if you start a good cardio schedule it will help develop collateral circulation in your heart vessels which will also benefit you and protect you from an infarct situation.

Managing Hypertension

Managing Hypertension

Hypertension, which is also known as high blood pressure is a prominent factor that is responsible for the development of many serious health issues like cardiac disorder, chronic kidney diseases, vision loss and stroke. The dominant causes of hypertension include troubled lifestyle style, genetics, environmental factors and internal imbalances. You cannot possibly control the chances of suffering from hypertension but you can always prevent and minimize the risk of the problems that are associated with hypertension.

The following are some lifestyle tips that can help you to manage and minimize the risk of developing hypertension:

Maintain a healthy body weight: weight plays a crucial role in the prevention of hypertension. People who are obese run the risk of developing hypertension. It is advisable to lose excessive body fat to maintain an ideal body weight. A well-maintained body weight minimizes the risk of hypertension.

Eat a healthy and balanced diet: unhealthy food intake is a primary factor that causes hypertension. Eating a healthy and balanced diet enables you to manage your blood pressure effectively. Incorporate plenty of fresh fruits and leafy vegetables, especially the ones rich in potassium. Limit excess intake of calories, sugar, and fat as they tend to increase the risk of hypertension.

Reduce consumption of salt: higher sodium intake increases your blood pressure level. Avoid high-sodium processed and packaged foods as they are high in sodium content. A low-sodium diet enables you to keep your blood pressure normal.

Exercise regularly: an active lifestyle is known to lower the risk of hypertension. Make sure to indulge yourself into some physical activities on a daily basis.

Limit the alcohol intake: excessive intake of alcohol can raise your blood pressure level. Limit your alcohol consumption to minimize the chances of hypertension.

Monitor your blood pressure: monitor your blood sugar level on a regular basis. Hypertension usually does not show any symptoms. If your blood pressure ranges between 120-139/80-89 millimeters of mercury it is an indication that you run a higher risk of developing hypertension. A raise in blood pressure demands moderation of lifestyle practices and controlled food intake.

Manage stress level: excessive stress and anxiety are not good for your blood pressure. Severe stress is known to shoot up your blood pressure level which leads to the development of many other health related complications including the improper functioning of crucial organs like heart and kidney.

You are taking trimetazine which is typically given in the management of angina or ischemic heart disease. Either your af is due to an ischemic episode some time back or due to thyroid. Please consult with all your reports as well as medications and ecg with ii long lead. Atrial fibrillation has some other problems too mainly pertaining to clots getting formed in the atria. Ideally there are drugs available for the management of the af which can be given and there are some minimal invasive surgical procedures too. Best of luck.

Hi, ecg and tmt are advised to rule out any ischaemic disorder. If it is positive, then you can consult a cardiologist with the reports who will perform an angiogram to know the exact site and severity of the ischaemic disorder. If your ecg is normal, then there is no problem with the blood supply.

I am 32 years old man. Have bp. So please tell how can I Control that. Should I take medicine regularly.
Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.

My questiom is: my grandpa is suffering from 80%heart blockage. He is now on medicine. He feels uncomfortable and nervousness. Only 18% heart is pumping. He is 65 years old. Give me your valuable advice to recover them.

Dear, your grand father must have suffered from an ischemic episode may be an acute mi and post conventional recovery he has compensated cardiac function. Will be in a better position to comment if I know the nature of the blocks in the coronary like location, whether it is a single vessel or multiple vessel disease etc. Please share the angiography report. 18% cardiac function (lvef) must be immediately post the infarct recovery. I am sure his cardiac function must have improved after that. A recent 2 d echo study would be essential. After a proper assessment of the reports ayurvedic medication can help him recover from the blockage as well as improvise the cardiac function. Do not discontinue or alter any medication before consulting his cardiologist.
