Few exercises for a strong core:
1: the off-balance workout
Looking for a toned stomach? these are two good reasons to turn your workout into a balancing act. A controlled wobble activates deep core muscles to help tighten the midsection and prepare athletes for that quick turn or lunge.
2: engage your abs
Before each move in our workout, first engage your abdominal by tightening them -- without holding your breath -- as if preparing to take a punch. You'll activate the core muscles surrounding your spine and tone your entire abdominal area. Engaged abs also help prevent injury when lifting. If you have a medical condition, be sure to check with your doctor before this or any new fitness program.
3: one-legged balance
Start with this beginning move, keeping a stable chair or a wall within arms' reach. With feet together, pick up one foot -- knee facing forward or to the side. Hold the position with eyes open, then closed. Switch feet and repeat for four reps on each foot. If any move feels wrong or unsafe to you, stop and check with a trainer. Depending on your health and physical condition, some exercises may not be recommended.
4: leg swings
Stand on your right leg and raise the left leg 3-6 inches off the floor. With arms at your sides, swing your left leg forward and backward, touching the floor for balance, while keeping your torso erect. Now, repeat the moves, but don't allow your foot to touch the ground. And finally, swing your left foot to the left side, holding your right arm out. Switch legs and repeat.
5: one-legged clock with arms
Balance on one leg, torso straight, head up, and hands on the hips. Visualize a clock and point your arm straight overhead to 12, then to the side (3), and then circle low and around to 9 o'clock without losing your balance. Increase the challenge by having a partner call out the different times to you. Switch to the opposite arm and leg and repeat.
6: one-legged clock with legs
Balance on one leg, torso straight, head up, and hands on your hips. Straighten the other leg to the front, and imagine yourself as the center of a clock. Point that foot to 12, 9, and then cross over to 3 o'clock while holding your balance. Increase the challenge by having a partner shout out the different times to you. Switch to the opposite leg and repeat.
7: one-legged squat
Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Point your left foot out front, just barely touching the floor for balance and push your hips back and down into this challenging one-legged squat position. Your right knee is bent, chest upright, eyes forward, and your arms out front. Slowly push up to return to starting position. Switch feet.

For weight gain & improved health: 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs intervals containing foods rich in nutrient & calorie density like paneer paratha, cheese-potato sandwich, dates-almonds milkshake, peanut chikki, til ladoo, banana kheer, atta halwa/gond ladoo, thicker atta-maida rotis with ghee, rice with ghee, cow/buffalo milk with skim milk powder, homemade cereal malt with milk & sugar, premix with soup, fruit juice, sugarcane juice, dry fruits, soyabean cutlet/roll, fruit lassi, egg curry/omlette/egg scramble/french toast, fatty fish, chicken 2. Drink 3 litres water daily (but not with or just before meal) 3. Avoid junk foods & empty calorie snacks 4. Enjoy meals in a peaceful environment without distractions 5. Eat fast & in bigger utensils 6. Practice strength exercises daily to increase lean mass- bench press, push up, squat, etc. 7. Get a thyroid profile test done to rule out hyperthyroidism.

I suggest you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. Start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2.take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3.triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4.amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating. When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. Sesame seeds, ground nuts, and peanuts also contain fats in them and can help in adding that extra pounds you desire. 2. Sometimes loss of appetite may also cause weight loss. So you should take following remedies improving weight A]triphala kadha 4tsp before lunch and dinner B]amala juice 4 tsp + sugar 2 tsp+ honey 2 tsp empty stomach in the morning umami flavor increases satiety and enhances appetite. avoid day time sleep. avoid tea/coffe/ cola in evening and after. 8 hours sleep is ok . 10 pm 6 am is good timing.

Hello, Do not wait for the thirst signal,keep drinking water at regular. Inculcate the habit of drinking 1 glass per hour. That will help you a lot.Don not have water along with meals.

For increasing weight u first have to work on ur digestive system...If u have strong digestive system u will able to increase ur weight easily... Take baidyanath chitrakadi vati 2 tab twice daily for a week.....+ 1tsf triphala churna daily..., take small meals 4-5 times a day..eat healthy n light food ...drink plenty of water...walk 1km daily in evening...follow up after a week.

Dear lybrate-user. If there is no other physical reason for your low energy feeling, this should be psychological lethargy. This happens due to negative thinking and obsession about your own health. You may not habituated with hard work. This has to be changed. You have to change your attitude and should work hard to get the habit changed. You could need attitude altering therapy. Take care.

How to improve stamina while smoking & does our body get effected by taking fat burners?

Hye, Thanks for the query. Smoking increases your risk of cancer, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, eye disorders such as cataracts, rheumatoid arthritis, dental problems and stroke. That's because the substances in cigarettes can damage your organs and increase your body's level of free radicals, compounds that harm DNA and cellular tissue. There aren't any foods that can prevent or undo the effects of smoking but some tips can help the body combat the oxidation load to some extent. Have a Cup of green or herbal tea. The antioxidants can inhibit the activity of free radicals to some extent. Black grapes, blackberries and other berries are other good sources too. Smokers are more likely to become deficient in vitaminC. Include plenty of vitamin C-rich produce in your diet daily, such as tomatoes, berries like strawberries, kiwi, bell peppers, indian gooseberry, guava, pineapple, and all types of citrus fruits. Smokers must consume vitamin E rich foods, as it could lower their risk of developing heart disease in the future. Increasing intake of foods high in vitamin E eg Wheat germ and wheat germ oil are the best sources. Nuts, vegetable oils like ricebran, olive or canola oil, seeds, eggs and leafy greens are also rich in vitamin E. Cruciferous vegetables can help provide anticancerious nutrients. Chota gobi, cauliflower, cabbage, radishes and bok choy all belong in the cruciferous vegetable family. Avoid junk foods. Avoid processed, packeted and proprietary foods. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Fat burners are of no use if your diet is not good and you are not exercising.

Hi lybrate user, firstly be confident the way you are. People keep saying lot of insensitive things. Just say'thank you' to them and keep moving ahead. Medical issues you should do these tests cbc, thyroid profile, sugar profile to rule out any ailments. Take deworming tabs every six months. Diet issues to gain some weight, you need to eat healthy. Have lot of fruits and fruit juices. Eat lot of nuts like almonds, cashew, peanuts. Drink full cream milk, curd, cheese, paneer. If your are non veg you can have more eggs, chicken. Go in for more dals, rajma, kabuli chana, soya beans etc. Avoid junk food and colas. Avoid fried foods. Eat healthy go for regular walks and do yoga. Sleep well. Follow these guidelines and you can report progress after 21 days through private questions. Stay cheerful and stay positive.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

Exercise is the best remedy for. Workout for 40 minutes daily. Also have food rich in vitamins and proteins. Soya, milk, curd, vegetables, fruits, dates, almonds and figs will help. Use them everyday. Take lots of pulses - all dals, sprouts and eggs.

When cholesterol levels are elevated, your diet should be low in fat and high in fiber. Since the fiber helps to absorb the fat and elimates it from the body. Include more of raw vegetables, taking fruits as whole rather than juices will help to increase the fiber in the diet. Use more garlic and onions in the preparation of which will help to reduce the levels. Avoid taking junk, oily fried foods, saturated fats like ghee, butter, mayo sauce, red meats, organ meats, crabs, prawns, lobsters, carbonated beverages, highly saturated sweets and alcohol. Use high fiber foods like whole wheat, multi grain flour / breads, broken wheat, rice flakes, at least weekly twice green leafy vegetables, daily two serving of raw vegetables and fruits, avoid sugars - since they are converted into fat in the body and drink plenty of fluids. Many research studies have proved taking cinnamon powder along with water in empty stomach reduces the cholesterol levels in the blood. Along with the above dietary modifications, daily physical activity of at least 30-40 minutes is necessary.

Hye, Thanks for the query. You can improve your running stamina by following an effective training program and right nutrition. Step 1 Run more miles each week. You can increase your total running volume by increasing either the distance of each run or adding more runs. This allows your body to develop the systems needed to get more blood and oxygen to the muscles that are working.  Step 2 Incorporate a resistance workout two to three times per week, focusing on all of the major muscles groups of the body. Resistance can come from free weights, machines, body weight or bands, depending on what is available. At a minimum, the strength program should include squats, push-ups and planks because the combination of these three exercises will strengthen all of the major muscles of the body. Increasing muscle strength and endurance trains the muscles to work longer before reaching fatigue and that translates to being able to run longer. Step 3 Consume a nutritious diet, high in carbohydrates, moderate in protein and low in fat to ensure you have enough energy to complete your run. The diet of a runner should be made up of 60 to 70 percent carbohydrates, 12 to 15 percent from protein and no more than 30 percent from fat sources. Runners must also focus on staying well hydrated, drinking water regularly throughout the day and before, during and after workouts.
