DIET FOR PCOD AND SCOPE OF HOMOEOPATHY

BHMS
Homeopath, Bangalore
DIET FOR PCOD AND SCOPE OF HOMOEOPATHY
DIET FOR P.C.O.D and scope of homoeopathy
Diet for PCOD and Scope of Homoeopathy

PCOD is a very common condition seen in women these days. Women with PCOD are more prone to developing serious health conditions. There are several causes that lead to this condition, one of the primes of them being the diet we choose and our lifestyle. Given below are some important Do’s and Don’ts to follow, for women with PCOD and for all those who would like to prevent this condition. A little extra care if taken in effectively managing our diet and lifestyle could go a long way in preventing PCOD.

DO’s:

Diet:

- Wheat products (wheat bread, wheat pasta)
- Barley
- Natural diuretic fruits
- Raw fruits (especially apple, pear etc.) and vegetables
- Oats, Corn, Butter, eggs, almonds, peanuts, pumpkin, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, mushroom, onions, peppers, spinach, vegetable oil, soya beans, apricots, blueberries, cantaloupe, cherries, figs, grapes, honeydew, lemon, tomato juice, kiwi fruit, pineapple, plum, raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, mango, cheese, radishes, olive oil, nuts, salmon fish, flaxseeds
- Protein rich foods
- High fiber rich food and Vit B rich food
- Opt for lean meat. Avoid chicken though, as they may be injected with male hormone to increase the muscle bulk, which would trigger PCOD
- Move to Soy products instead of milk, as milk has the tendency to increase the testosterone levels
- Include 1-2 litres of water in your diet, which avoids water retention
- Divide meals into small healthy 5-6 meals per day, instead of 3 heavy meals and never miss breakfast

Exercise:
- Sit –ups, push –ups
- Skipping helps you to lessen binge eating, the release of serotonin and dopamine will keep your stress levels low.
- Stress free methods such as Yoga, meditation, listening to music etc.

DON’T’S:

- All whites (Maida, white bread, pasta, etc.)
- Junk or fast foods, cakes, cookies, sweets, chocolates, soft drinks and soda, desserts etc.
- Avoid red meat, whole milk dairy, fried food, margarines
- Reduce Sodium intake, by avoiding sauces, chips, salted nuts, canned soups
- Quit smoking –as it stimulates Androgen
- Avoid alcohol

Scope of Homoeopathy in PCOD:

Homeopathic approach towards management of PCOD is constitutional, taking into account the presenting complaints along with physical, mental and genetic make-up that individualizes a person. It involves prescribing “Constitutional Medicine”, which is also capable for working on the Ovaries and the entire Endocrine system. The treatment logic varies depending on the presence of any genetic predisposition, physical makeup (obesity), peculiarities of your menstrual, etc. In Homoeopathy, medicines are given to induce ovulation in a natural way, which would improve and regularize your menstrual cycle and also helps in the prevention or minimization of cyst formation.

Hello I'm 21 years old male. I regularly have sex with my girlfriend. Recently I had sex with her without protection. But I did not insert the sperm in her as the sperm come I took my penis off. So is there any problem? Please advise.

Hello I'm 21 years old male. I regularly have sex with my girlfriend. Recently I had sex with her without protection....
Predischarge can also have sperms. Hence it is not a 100% safe practice. Wait for her periods and if she misses her periods, then take urine pregnancy test.

If you are on regular cycle no problem. It was on safe period. Fertilization take place only on 13, 14, 15 days but unsafe from 9 th to 20th of every cycle from the 1st day of menstruation. You can do safe sex on 1st day of menstruation to 8th day and 8 days before each menstrual day, means one week before and after each menstruation.

Hi doctors My doctor told me to do at least 5iui before going for ivf .Due to I have pcos prob and hubby sperm count low (varicose vein in testicles left side) and one relative told me to do acupuncture to regulate period and 'll conceive soon suggestions about this method please.

Hi doctors My doctor told me to do at least 5iui before going for ivf .Due to I have pcos prob and hubby sperm count ...
Hi i understood your concern First of all, Its true that you should go for at least 5-6 cycle of IUI before going to IVF. And ya there is a no proven evidence that accupuncture and etc techinique will regulate period. If you have PCOS than best is exercise and at least reduce 10% of body weight that will definately help. Regarding LOW semen count of husband if its very low means less than 10 milli/ml than directly go for IVF/ICSI. Success rate with IUI is low in such condition. happy to help you Thanks

Your have had repeated early pregnancy losses. As a couple you both need to be checked thoroughly for specific causes of this problem. It could be any of genetic, hormonal, immunological, infections, uterine, cervical and environmental reasons. If a cause is found, it has to be treated before you try for pregnancy again. The tests are expensive. The medicines you are taking are an attempt to raise your chances of conception in the current cycle. If you want natural pregnancy, you have to try for 3 months without medications, specially during the most fertile period. If after 3 months still no success, then HSG test for you and semen test for your husband will be needed.

It's not harmful for her to eat sperms and if both of you are not suffering from any disease than you won't be affected by HIV and you have to take care that she doesn't get pregnant and don't forc her for sexual activity

Hello, Why are you giving her iPill? As she has taken iPill, she is unlikely to be pregnant. If it has been less than 72 hours of intercourse, do urine pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy. If the result is positive then consult a gynaecologist for further evaluation and management.

Sir my wife is pregnant of 8 weeks. Can sex during pregnancy is safe? Or it causes any discomfort to mother & baby She has polycystic ovary Her date of birth is 07-05-1993.

It is completely safe to be having sex at 8 wks. In fact most women have sex for just a darn bout the entire pregnancy. But that is only if there are no problems happening. But as long as you feel ok go for it! Enjoy it while you can as much as you want cuz once the baby comes there will be no sex for at least a month & a half!

5 Tips For Weight Loss During Pregnancy

5 Tips For Weight Loss During Pregnancy

Being overweight doesn't stop you from getting pregnant but if not managed properly, the excess kilos can have quite a few side effects. Amongst these are an increased risk to infections, gestational diabetes, labor issues and premature birth. Losing weight in the first and last trimester is normal as long as the weight loss is not drastic. Here are a few simple tips to help manage weight during pregnancy effectively.

1. Eat frequent, small meals

Pregnant women are often advised to eat for two. Instead of piling food onto a plate three times a day, break your meals down into smaller bites at more frequent intervals. Eating every two hours is a healthy habit to inculcate. Along with helping maintain portion sizes, this also makes digestion more comfortable.

2. Avoid empty calories

When faced with a choice between fruits and chips, choose the former. Pregnancy cravings are normal but eating a tub of ice cream does not give your body or your baby any nutrition and only lead to unnecessary weight gain. Avoid anything with added sugar and solid fat like soft drinks, fried food, cheese and desserts. These can easily be replaced by fresh juices, nuts, yogurt and fruit sorbets. Also try avoiding caffeine.

3. Drink plenty of water

Apart from preventing dehydration, drinking water also helps in weight maintenance. Filling your stomach with water reduces hunger and thus leads to lesser snacking. Water is also known to increase metabolism.

4. Exercise

Regulating your food intake is only one half of weight maintenance. The second half is regular exercise. Consult your doctor to create a workout regime suited to you. If you were a regular gym enthusiast before pregnancy, there should be no reason to stop now but if you lead a sedentary life before pregnancy don't try and start an intensive gym routine. Light yoga, walking, swimming and cycling are great exercise options for pregnant women.

5. Take your prenatal vitamins regularly

Prenatal vitamins are an essential source of the extra nutrition your body needs during pregnancy. While this can in no way replace meals, it should never be missed out. Prenatal vitamins also help maintain weight by giving your body the nutrition it needs without the accompanied calorie and thus can also help maintain pregnancy weight.

The key to maintaining weight during pregnancy is to know your body's requirements and address them properly. For this reason, it is very important to consult your doctor or a dietician to help understand your calorie needs.
