Skin Infection in Athletes: 5 Ways to Overcome It!

Given their nature of work, athletes are at an increased risk of acquiring skin infections. These infections can lead to serious consequences if they are left untreated.

Here are 5 ways in which skin conditions in athletes can be prevented.

1. Keeping the bruises clean and covered - 
It is important for you to keep the cuts and scrapes clean as well as covered with bandages until they heal because such openings in the skin weaken its defence against germs and increase the possibility of infections.

2. Taking care of the blisters - Make sure that you prevent blisters as much as you can because they make your skin susceptible to infections. Use gels, sprays, ice pads etc. and try to avoid getting sunburnt to prevent dangerous skin conditions.

3. Be mindful of what you wear - It is important for athletes to wear moisture-wicking clothes because sweat, if not made to dry, can lead to growth of germs that can cause a number of skin diseases and infections. Also, not wearing foot wear outside the field can lead to infections on the feet.

4. Maintaining good hygiene - Take a shower after every practice session and game using an antimicrobial soap. Besides, use a clean towel and avoid sharing your personal care items like razor, soap etc. with other athletes. This is extremely important in order to reduce the risk of bacterial infection.

5. Disinfect all your equipment and go for skin checkups - Make sure that you disinfect all your equipment like the protective gear, gloves, socks etc. after every use. Also, get regular skin checkups done, especially if you are associated with high-risk sports like wrestling, boxing etc. There is an increased possibility of skin injuries, sores, swelling etc. in athletes associated with such sports, which exposes them to a greater risk of skin conditions. So, disinfection and clinical checkups on a regular basis become all the more important for them. Ensure that you never use sandpaper or bleach simply to pass a skin check up. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Well you seem to have symptoms like fear of haircuts, body image abnormality thoughts etc. Usually persons with low self confidence or low self esteem, have self doubt regarding their body image and find it difficult to speak in public and also avoid talking to people regarding those issues. Masturbation is not really bad; it is the addiction to it that is bad. Not even the number of years is a problem but the frequency and compulsiveness to do it is to be considered for its ill-effects. The problem with addiction to this is that you may go on to prefer masturbation to heterosexual contact, even when you are married. That obviously would be an insult to your wife and will lead to a lot of conflict. You are fortunate that you are not complaining about sex with your wife. The second thing that can happen with addiction is that it will become compulsive and will have no boundaries or limits, since it can be done all by yourself, whenever, wherever, and however too. Now the big problem a lot of people get into is the guilt around this. That is where your depression, headaches, back pain etc. May have their origins. Sex in marriage is never ending as long as you are physically and psychologically fit. There will be no effect on future babies for any reason. Now that you are married just enjoy that relationship and forget the past: forgive yourself if need be and enjoy life with your wife. If the depression does not leave you in a hurry, then meet with a counselor or sexologist and get rid of your anger towards yourself for the masturbation, by expressing the feeling.

You can exercise a lot, but if you don't have a healthy diet plan you will likely lose little to no weight, and you'll still have the problems associated with eating poorly .Any certified fitness instructor will tell you that what you eat matters much more than how you exercise. Eat right, and exercise enough. Eating a high-protein breakfast will reduce cravings and calorie intake throughout the day. Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice. These are the most fattening things you can put into your body, and avoiding them can help you lose weight. Drink water a half hour before meals. Consult for detailed instructions.

1. Avoid raw eggs as it can cause gastric problems due to samonella bacteria. 2. Milk, oats and banana are fine but avoid honey since it has lot of sugar based calories. 3. If you are doing regular weight training then have regular food with lots of fruits, veggies and proteins from dals, beans, chicken, eggs etc. 4. Do not overeat just because you are doing weight training. A lot of people start consuming huge amount of food just because of going to gym and increase their tummies instead of increasing biceps. 5. Try to match your diet as per your workouts.

There is no medication or food or exercise for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is 18 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik carrots can't decrease number of your glasses.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Hello, you may be having headache because of stress/ refractory problems/ any ENT problem or may be Migraine Headache kindly follow advises given below: you can take(If No drug allergy) : 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) 2. Adequate sleep 6-8 hr in a day 3. Get check eyes for refractive error 4. We need to go for ENT evaluation to rule out sinusitis 5. Get BP checked 6. Regular physical exercise and meditation and yoga complete history of your headache for further management like duration, severity, aggravating factors/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis consult physician for further management.
