Echogenic kidney ke baare me btaye. Mere beta ka right kidney cortical echogenic by birth hai. Kya ye apne aap thik ho jata hai.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Increased echogenicity of the kidney in the newborn has many causes, some of which reflect serious renal disease. The major abnormal imaging pattern is the large, diffusely hyperechoic kidney with abnormal architecture. The various cause of echogenic kidney are 1. Heriditary the family history and ultrasonic screening of the parents and siblings are essential in the evaluation. The identification of associated nonrenal abnormalities is important to the recognition of syndromal cystic disease. 2. Second cause of the enlarged hyperechoic kidneys with abnormal architecture include renal vein thrombosis and congenital nephrotic syndrome. A second pattern is the hyperechoic small kidney with abnormal architecture. Many of these kidneys are dysplastic and associated with urinary tract obstruction. The combination of hyperechoic parenchyma and pyelocaliceal dilatation suggests obstructive cystic dysplasia. 3. Cortical and medullary necrosis in the newborn also causes hyperechogenicity in small kidneys. A third pattern contains those kidneys with medullary hyperechogenicity, the most common cause of which in the newborn is nephrocalcinosis associated with furosemide therapy treatment of echogenic kidneys depends upon the effects it causess to the kidneys and some of the effect are 1. Renal dysplasia 2. Acute glomerulonephritis 3. Chronic glomerulonephritis 4. Acute tubular necrosis 5. Hemolytic-uremc syndrome 6. Chronic renal failure 7. Nephrotic syndrome 8. Glycogen-storage disease 9. Sickle cell anemia 10. Polycystic renal disease so the treatment depends upon what type of condition kidney is suffering from and management given accordingly.

Hello Lybrate User, Most of the urinary tract infections are due to bacteria or microbes. These following factors can increase the likelihood of developing a urinary tract infection - Sexual intercourse (especially if more frequent, intense, and with multiple or new partners), diabetes, poor personal hygiene, problems emptying the bladder completely, having a urinary catheter, bowel incontinence, blocked flow of urine, kidney stones, suppressed immune system, immobility for a long period, heavy use of antibiotics. Here are several measures that can be taken to reduce the risk of developing a urinary tract infection - * Drink lots of water and urinate frequently * Avoid fluids such as alcohol and caffeine that can irritate the bladder * Urinate shortly after sex * Wipe from front to back after urinating and bowel movement * Keep the genital area clean * Showers are preferred to baths and avoid using oils * Avoid using any perfumed products in the genital area * Wear cotton underwear and loose-fitting clothing to keep the area around the urethra dry. In case, if infection get worse visit your primary health care provider. Take care.

Tips for removing kidney stones:: 1. Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, cold drinks, pickles, fish, poultry, meat, spinach, and chocolate. 2. Avoid sour, heavy, and dry food. 3. Increase intake of liquids like water, juice, soup, lime water lemon soda etc. 4. Be sure to drink enough water each day. Usually 1 to 2 liters of water per day is adequate. 5. Drink more if you are perspiring heavily, working outdoors, the weather is hot, etc. 6. Increase the use of barley, horse gram (a type of bean), ginger, and brown rice or parboiled rice. 7. Avoid suppressing urges to urinate and defecate. 9. Boil 10-12 basil leaves in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey in it and take twice a day. Pls send ur USG report coz herbal medicines for removing stones can be given according to size and number and location of stones.

Four months passed turp. Urine is clear. Urine flow is slow. Urine passes slowly. Penis is not standing. Sir suggest me.
Urine being slow may be due to preexhisting effect on urinary bladder due to prostate before surgery or may be due to other causes like urethral stricture or urinary infection. Uroflowmetry and urine routine test will help in finding the cause.

Here are the top 6 kidney stone prevention tips: Don't Underestimate Your Sweat. Saunas, hot yoga and heavy exercise may be good for your health, but they also may lead to kidney stones. Why? Loss of water through sweating - whether due to these activities or just the heat of summer—leads to less urine production. The more you sweat, the less you urinate, which allows for stone-causing minerals to settle and bond in the kidneys and urinary tract. Instead: Hydrate with H2O. One of the best measures you can take to avoid kidney stones is to drink plenty of water, leading you to urinate a lot. So, be sure to keep well hydrated, especially when engaging in exercise or activities that cause a lot of sweating. It's Not Just the Oxalate. Oxa-what? Oxalate is naturally found in many foods, including fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, grains, legumes, and even chocolate and tea. Some examples of foods that contain high levels of oxalate include: peanuts, rhubarb, spinach, beets, chocolate and sweet potatoes. Moderating intake of these foods may be beneficial for people who form calcium oxalate stones, the leading type of kidney stones. A common misconception is that cutting the oxalate-rich foods in your diet alone will reduce the likelihood of forming calcium oxalate kidney stones. While in theory this might be true, this approach isn't smart from an overall health perspective. Most kidney stones are formed when oxalate binds to calcium while urine is produced by the kidneys. Instead: Eat and drink calcium and oxalate-rich foods together during a meal. In doing so, oxalate and calcium are more likely to bind to one another in the stomach and intestines before the kidneys begin processing, making it less likely that kidney stones will form. Calcium is Not the Enemy. But it tends to get a bad rap! Most likely due to its name and composition, many are under the impression that calcium is the main culprit in calcium-oxalate stones. "I still see patients who wonder why they are getting recurring stones despite cutting down on their calcium intake," said Dr. Jhagroo. "I've even had patients say that their doctors told them to reduce their calcium intake." A diet low in calcium actually increases one's risk of developing kidney stones. Instead: Don't reduce the calcium. Work to cut back on the sodium in your diet and to pair calcium-rich foods with oxalate-rich foods. It's Not One and Done. Passing a kidney stone is often described as one of the most painful experiences a person can have, but unfortunately, it's not always a one-time event. Studies have shown that having even one stone greatly increases your chances of having another. "Most people will want to do anything they can to ensure it doesn't happen again," said Dr. Jhagroo. "Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be the case that people make the changes they need to after their first stone event." Research conducted by Dr. Jhagroo shows that those with kidney stones do not always heed the advice of their nephrologists and urinary specialists. About 15% of kidney stone patients didn't take prescribed medications and 41% did not follow the nutritional advice that would keep stones from recurring. Instead: Take action! Without the right medications and diet adjustments, stones can come back, and recurring kidney stones also could be an indicator of other problems, including kidney disease. When Life Hands You Kidney Stones… don't fret. And as the saying goes, "make lemonade." It's important to consider dietary remedies alongside prescription medications. While it may seem easier to just take a pill to fix a medical problem, consider what lifestyle changes will also make a big impact on your health. Instead: Next time you drive past a lemonade (or limeade) stand, consider your kidneys. Chronic kidney stones are often treated with potassium citrate, but studies have shown that limeade, lemonade and other fruits and juices high in natural citrate offers the same stone-preventing benefits. Beware of the sugar, though, because it can increase kidney stone risk. Instead, buy sugar-free lemonade, or make your own by mixing lime or lemon juice with water and using a sugar substitute if needed. "We believe that citrate in the urine may prevent the calcium from binding with other constituents that lead to stones," said Dr. Jhagroo. "Also, some evidence suggests that citrate may prevent crystals that are already present from binding with each other, thus preventing them from getting bigger." Not All Stones are Created Equal. In addition to calcium oxalate stones, another common type of kidney stones is uric acid stones. Red meat, organ meats, and shellfish have high concentrations of a natural chemical compound known as purines. "High purine intake leads to a higher production of uric acid and produces a larger acid load for the kidneys to excrete," said Dr. Jhagroo. Higher uric acid excretion leads to lower overall urine pH, which means the urine is more acidic. The high acid concentration of the urine makes it easier for uric acid stones to form. Instead: To prevent uric acid stones, cut down on high-purine foods such as red meat, organ meats, and shellfish, and follow a healthy diet that contains mostly vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and low fat dairy products. Limit sugar-sweetened foods and drinks, especially those that contain high fructose corn syrup. Limit alcohol because it can increase uric acid levels in the blood and avoid crash diets for the same reason..Eating less animal-based protein and eating more fruits and vegetables will help decrease urine acidity and this will help reduce the chance for stone formation.

what are the size of the stones? stones treatment depends on the types and size of stone, most kidney stones won't require invasive procedures. You may be able to pass a small stone by: drinking water. Drinking as much as 2 to 3 quarts (1.9 to 2.8 liters) a day may help flush out your urinary system. Unless doctor tells you otherwise, drink enough fluid mostly water to produce clear or nearly clear urine. Passing a small stone can cause some discomfort. To relieve mild pain, according to your medical history I may prescribe pain relievers. I am a doctor and renal (kidney) registered dietitian who will also prescribe a customized diet plan and medications to help pass your kidney stone quickly and with less pain. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

First to find out the right cause like - cystitis, urinary tract infections, fibroids /pelvic masses/constipation etc etc. Their is not as such home remedies for this problem, you have to take a proper homeopathic treatment for this, few tips - often mild degrees of difficulty can be managed with simple advice. When sitting on the toilet, make sure that your legs are apart rather than having your knees together. Leaning forwards or even standing slightly may alter the angle of the bladder neck enough to allow better emptying. Waiting for two minutes after the initial void and trying again may help. This is known as the double void technique. 2) more severe symptoms may require actual treatment. There are three approaches to the treatment of voiding difficulties: try to increase the force of the bladder contractions. This can be achieved in some cases using bethanechol, which stimulates the nerve fibres controlling the contraction of the bladder muscle. This may be effective if there are no signs of obstruction at the bladder neck or urethra. Try to reduce outflow obstruction. This method would be used if there was a specific site of obstruction in the urethra such as a stricture, or narrowing, demonstrated during investigation as mentioned above. Third, and probably most commonly, catheters are used. They can either be used occasionally or remain in place long term. 3) occasional self-catheterisation when properly taught in a healthy individual with normal dexterity is the best option. It gives freedom to control bladder symptoms with no more inconvenience than having to change a tampon. But I suggest, you do all these things in the supervision of certified medical person. Homeopathic medicine for temporary relief - equisetum hyemale 30 three times a day, can notharis 30 - three times a day, then let me know after 4-5 days.

Hi Quazi. Usually discharge which is white, accompanied by any burning sensation or itching indicate an infection. Bleeding with discharge is more suggestive that it is indeed an infection. A proper antibiotic course will surely help.
