Hello, I am 27 year old male with height of 5'10" and weight 82 Kgs. I have recently started gym for fitness and increase in overall endurance being a vegetarian I am unable to follow a diet plan. I feel weakness and lethargic due to low protein and overall nutrition I started to consume raw paneer, but then stopped due to no taste. Please help me to strike a balance between the two, and what things I should avoid or eat in particular.

Hi for reduced weight you should work out as per you consume calories and it will take time just continue work out. Take following remedies for loosing weight 1. Arogya vardhini vati 2 tab before lunch and dinner 2. Abhayarishta 4 tsp before lunch nad dinner 3. Morning break fast=mung dal green soup 1 boul and if feel hunger have pomegranate or apple 4. Lunch 2 chaati + fruit vegetable + if you like rice 1 bowl and dal + barley soup 5. Evening 4-5 pm have some milk with sunth or any fruit you like 6. Dinner barley soup 2 bowl and one fruit follow this diet you will get reduced weight.

Dear lybrate user you should do regular exercise & take healthy diet & meditation too. Follow some tips eat handful of almonds daily with a glass of milk, take milk milk before going to bed too soaked 6 dry figs in water overnight, eat next morning. You can also eat one banana every day in the morning and follow it up with a glass of warm milk sweetened with a teaspoon of sugar. Take up yoga or breathing exercise to help you de-stress your body. Once you learn to de-stress and relax, you will find it easy to put on weight. Most important eat 3 meals & 2 sncks per day consume low fat food high in calories & nutrients such s starchy vegetables (e. G. Potato, nuts, seeds etc. Avoid consume of products that are made from white flour & sugar. If possible take afternoon sleep for 30 min, don't sleep late at night.

Hello, Weight gain is a gradual process and it needs preservance. You need to consume full cream dairy, nuts, dried fruits, eggs, lean chicken, dark green vegetables other than rice in your diet. Consider doing strength training 3times a week. Having high calorie snacks at regular intervals will also be helpful.

I don't seem to gain weight. I've tried mostly everything from balanced high carb and fat diet to taking weight gainers. Nothing works for me. I'm 5 feet 8" and weigh a mere 48.5 kilograms (with clothes). Kindly suggest me some plans or medicines that can help me with this. Also, although I drink a lot of water, probably 6-7 liters everyday, but I never feel thirsty. Sometimes I could go on for days with maybe just a glass or two in a day. Is that bad! Thanks in advance.

Hi lybrate-user, glad that you asked this question. Some times the metabolism in the system is very fast. So you don't gain weight easily. Eat frequently. Also take up weight training to build on your muscles. Include a lot of protein rich foods in your diet like fish, grilled chicken, eggs, sprouts, nuts and oilseeds, paneer post the workout. You are still 22 years, in a year or two with hormonal changes things should fall in place. All the bes.

I am 23 years old and I do gym daily with intense exercise and my profession is software developer. Hi, I think excessive gymming is creating the problem as you are exessively stretching yourself. Are you taking proper nutrition? I would suggest you to slow down your gym exercise and replace half of it by jogging or brisk walking. You are getting addicted to gym. Drink lots of water and have lots of salad. Have a good sleep too.

Underweight is a term describing a person whose body weight is considered too low to be healthy. The definition usually refers to people with a body mass index (BMI) of under 18.5 a weight 15% to 20% below that normal for their age and height group. Low weight may be due to improper diet, reduced assimilation from intestine, illness, metabolism, genetics etc. Thus first we have to rule out any such condition, with this have a healthy diet with more proteins (legumes, eggs, fish, lean meat, vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water and go for regular exercise. When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. Sesame seeds, ground nuts, and peanuts also contain fats in them and can help in adding that extra pounds you desire. 2. Sometimes loss of appetite may also cause weight loss. The first thing you have to do is to develop a positive attitude towards your goal. You need to understand that transforming your physique is going to take a lot of time. These things don't work that easily. It's going to take a lot of hard work and consistency 1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: Monday/Thursday: Chest + Triceps Tuesday/Friday: Back + Biceps Wednesday/Saturday: Legs + Shoulders Don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2. Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

My age is 25 and weight is 50 kg. My problem is my fat legs. My upper body is slim but my legs are comparatively very fat. I don't exactly remember when my legs got fat but I noticed it some 5 years ago. It is very much visible in photographs also. I tried different exercises for hours but nothing worked. Protein, like carbs, has 4 calories per gram. Your diet should consist of 10 to 35 percent protein, so for a 2,000-calorie diet, you'll need 50 to 175 grams of protein. Requirements of protein vary drastically depending on your activity level. If you work out regularly or are training for an athletic event, you may need the higher end of the recommendation, but if you are relatively sedentary, your protein requirements are lower.

Change your food habits. Add in your food proteins fruits green vegetables. Avoid oily and ghee preparation. You take nutrilite powder 1spoon in a cup of milk with breakfast and 1cup in night after dinner. For medicinal advice feedback to me.

Do's Drink 8 glasses of water every day to keep yourself hydrated. Eat healthy calorie foods like sweets, chocolates, ice-cream, and cakes that are rich in calories, moderately. Cook food in healthy oils and fats. Consume more dairy fats like milk and cheese. Keep your protein at 1 gram per pound of body weight. There's no need to eat more than this. Increase your daily calorie intake by 100 to 150 calories by increasing carbohydrate intake. ... If, after 7 to 10 days, your weight is still the same, repeat #2.
