Ways to Increase Fertility after Miscarriage

Ways to Increase Fertility after Miscarriage

It's normal to be concerned with your fertility after early miscarriage. Many couples want to try to conceive again right away, while others need time to heal. Ultimately, though, fertility following a miscarriage is an issue of concern for most couples.

Once you are ready to start trying for a child again, there are a number of things you can do to increase your chances of having a successful pregnancy.

  1. Rest and Recuperate- Many women want to hurry and start trying to get pregnant again right away after their miscarriage. This is a perfectly normal response, but may not be the best way to guarantee a healthy pregnancy. Give your body a chance to rest so your menstrual cycle can get back to normal. You also want to give yourself plenty of time for your mental balance to return so you are ready to take on the trials of trying to become pregnant. Be gentle and give yourself time to rest and focus on taking care of your physical and emotional needs until you are ready to try again.
  2. Change Lifestyle- Eliminating unhealthy habits can help increase your chances of conceiving later. Eliminate alcohol or drug use and quit smoking before you start trying for pregnancy. Cutting down or eliminating caffeine can also help you conceive a healthy pregnancy.
  3. Eliminate Stress- Eliminating stress can also make conceiving easier. Stress can reduce fertility levels, making it harder to get pregnant. Practicing meditation, yoga or taking time to relax after dealing with tough issues in your life can make it much easier to conceive.
  4. Eat Healthy- Eating a healthy diet is also essential to having a healthy pregnancy. This can also help women manage the depression caused by their miscarriage. Getting a variety of vitamins and minerals and cutting down on saturated fats and processed foods can help you get pregnant and maintain a healthy pregnancy.
  5. Take Fertility Drugs or Therapies- There are various fertility drugs and therapies on the market today. Your doctor will prescribe different medications based on your overall health and age.
  6. Use an Ovulation Predictor- An ovulation predictor can help you map out your cycle. This will allow you to determine which days in your cycle will be the most likely for you to conceive.
  7. Support the Uterus and Liver- Performing a fertility cleanse after your period has stopped can help support the uterus and liver, promoting overall fertility health. Sometimes stagnant blood can get left behind after your period which can cause discomfort or health issues. Following a fertility diet to help rid your body of the excess blood and hormones in your system can help your conceive more easily.
  8. Massage the Uterus- When you have stopped bleeding after your miscarriage, performing a uterus massage can help your body relax. This massage will help bring fresh blood to the area and soothe the body so you can relax.

If you have been having trouble conceiving it may be time to talk to a fertility expert. Your doctor can perform fertility tests on you and your partner to determine if there are any underlying issues present. Then you can work together to determine if any additional medical treatment is necessary to help you get pregnant.

Hello Lybrate user As your age is only 20 yrs. You need to use insulin for controlling your sugars. The dosage of insulin depends upon your body weight and sugars levels. Pls consult a physician and start insulin as persistent high sugar levels can damage your kidneys and eyes. Take care.

Mr Ravi, Thanks for the query. Long standing diabetes even when it is well controlled does cause peripheral neuropathy leading to irritation, burning, tingling and numbness in feet and legs. Further if diabetes is uncontrolled as is the case with your mom, the problem is bound to be more severe. First and foremost thing is to achieve a strict blood glucose control with fasting <100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. Plus if needed certain medications also may be needed to reduce nerve irritation and pain. Thanks.

Infertility - 6 Causes Behind It

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Infertility - 6 Causes Behind It

Infertility is characterized by the inability to get pregnant even after unprotected intercourse for over a year. Repeated miscarriages along with other factor can often be the reason behind infertility in women.

Probable causes of Infertility in Women:

  1. The most common cause of infertility in women is an abnormal uterus. Congenital flaws, such as septate uterus can lead to repeated miscarriages. The normal pH level of the uterus is approximately in the range of 6.6 to 7.6. So a pH level below or above this range can lead to an abnormal uterus.

  2. Ovulation defects (such as the eggs not properly maturing in the ovaries or the ovaries not releasing mature eggs) are other causes as well.

  3. Another possible cause is Endometriosis, a condition wherein the tissues which line the inner walls of the uterus start to grow on the outsides of the uterus, such as in the pelvis or the abdomen.

  4. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a condition wherein the ovaries become enlarged with tiny cysts growing on them, is another important cause for infertility. Hormonal imbalances are at the root of this condition.

  5. A block or damage to the fallopian tubes can prevent the sperm to properly fertilize the egg thus, leading to infertility.

  6. Unhealthy lifestyle habits such as obesity or being underweight, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and not following a healthy diet are other important causes of infertility. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

Hi Lybrate user. People with diabetes have shoulder pain and stiffness (frozen shoulder) more commonly than those without diabetes. And your blood sugars are well controlled. Even if it related to diabetes, you should seek help from orthopedic surgeon so that condition can be treated early and you don't develop irreversible damage to your shoulder.

Diet Tips to Prevent, Control and Reverse Diabetes

Diabetes is one of the worst diseases which has gripped majority of people today, thanks to our erratic work schedule followed by a lack of exercise and sleep, aggravated by the overindulgence in junk food. But, the good news is that you can control and even reverse diabetes by following some simple dietary tips.

The fact is dieting doesn’t mean starving; you can have tasty nutritious food which is mentally and physically rejuvenating.

Here are a few dietary tips you should follow to keep your blood sugar levels in check-

  1. Include adequate vegetables in your diet; especially which have high fibre content. Leafy vegetables such as spinach and vegetables such as peas, broccoli and beans are a must.
  2. Include high fibre foods such as chickpea wheat, oats and millets in your diet.
  3. Milk has the perfect combination of protein and carbohydrate and can control blood sugar levels.
  4. Make sure you eat pulses, especially those with husk and sprouts, as they keep your blood glucose levels normal. Even when you are having noodles, you must add sprouts to them apart from the vegetables.
  5. Foods which are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids are excellent for combating diabetes. These include flax seed oil, nuts, fatty fish; these have a very small level of cholesterol.
  6. Consume high fibre fruits such as papaya, pear, orange, guava etc. Eat those fruits which have high sugar content such as mangoes or grapes, in moderation.

These are some of the foods which you should include in your diet. In addition, there are few everyday tips which you should follow-

  1. Make sure to have small frequent meals comprising of high fibre and low in carbohydrate foods.
  2. Methi or fenugreek seeds have high diabetes controlling mechanisms. Soak one tablespoon of the seeds in 100 ml of water overnight and have it in the morning.
  3. Exercise helps in managing blood sugar levels.
  4. Losing weight improves the functioning of the insulin.

Tip for sticking with a diabetes-friendly diet plan-

First and foremost, take small, manageable steps. Choose two or three things you want to work on. Once you feel you have mastered those you can move on to two or three more steps towards a healthier diet.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. It is nice to know you have delivered a healthy baby. Now if there symptoms like muscle pain and joint pain, it is better to get a thyroid test done. Because symptoms of hyperthyroidism can return after soe time. Because your TSH level is fairly low. So please come back with values of free T3 & T4. Thanks.

Hi I am a diabetic n under insulin control need to ask dat my wife does not reach her orgasm even after prolong sex n...
Hello- OrgasmCertain things are needed to push women over the brink of ecstasy. Try these bedroom-tested strategies 1) THE DOUBLE GRIP Despite all the attention her booty may attract when she's walking down the street in tight jeans or bending over a file cabinet, a woman's butt is too often sidelined during sex. And that's why grabbing both of her cheeks when she's on top may be just the unexpected turn-on a girl needs to get off. "The buttocks are packed with nerve endings, To give her a surprising jolt of pleasure, spread your fingers wide and squeeze both buttocks firmly. But take it one step at a time. Yes, of course, there are women out there who crave a good spanking, but until you've had a conversation about this sort of thing—however playful you are—just keep it simple. 2) THE ULTIMATE There's no question that clitoral contact is the ultimate fuse blower. But how—and how much—depends on the woman. "Going down on a woman allows you to get a real sense of the stimulation she likes at every stage of arousal, especially the final one. It also eliminates any performance anxiety she has during intercourse, so she can kick back and enjoy. Learn what she likes. Get between her legs and give her a solid base of lips, tongue, gums, and even chin to rub against. At first, use your hands to guide her hips to let her know you want her to do the grinding. When she takes over, note how hard she's pushing and in what direction. Use that information later when using your fingers or giving her a more aggressive tongue bath.

My TSH ULTRASENSITIVE is 4.082 uIU/mL & MAGNESIUM (Xylidyl blue) is 1.80 mg/dL what should I do?

General Physician,
My TSH ULTRASENSITIVE is 4.082 uIU/mL & MAGNESIUM (Xylidyl blue) is 1.80 mg/dL what should I do?
Normal TSH levels for the average adult range from 0.4 ‑ 4.0 mIU/L (milli-international units per liter) (3). However, many organisations agree that a reading of 2.5 or less is truly ideal, with anything 2.5 – 4.0 mIU/L considered “at risk”. For those on thyroxine, goal TSH level is between 0.5 to 2.5 mU/L

Hi I am a diabetic n under insulin control need to ask here how to increase my weight as I just 50 kg right now.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

Hi I am a diabetic n under insulin control need to ask here how to increase my weight as I just 50 kg right now.
Mr Iqbal, Thanks for the query. Looking at your weight and height, you are having a BMI of 21.6 kgs/M2, which is marginally less. Your ideal body weight can be about 52 to 53 kgs. To increase weight first thing is to achieve a strict blood glucose control with fasting closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. If this is achieved, then proper nutrition and exercise will help in gaining weight. Thanks.
