My exams are coming. I usually wants to sleep 4-5 hours. But I do not get my sleep. I will be full tensed and I hardly sleeps. But the next day I forgets whatever I studied in the exam hall. Please help. How to get sleep if am tensed. Please reply.

Students study 20 percent of their syllabus in the first 80 percent time. Then they try to study remaining 80 percent of their syllabus in 20 percent time when examinations are very near. This is a huge blunder on the part of the students. When examinations are far away and syllabus are announced I request all the students to study at least one hour everyday. This will greatly help in reducing exam stress on the final day before the exam. The more students stay awake for studying for the examinations, they find it hard to remember. Sleep is important for the mind to rest and I prefer students getting up early in the morning and studying. Thus they would be able to remember longer. This is because when a person sleeps, he forgets 80 percent of the things of the previous day. Reading a topic helps a person to remember but writing the important points helps to remember longer. Also do not take stress. For when one is stressed, one tends to forget half of the things that one has studied.

If all tests are normal, it can be due to acidity. Avoid spicy food. Have a complete 7,8 hours of sleep everyday. Do not take stress.

I am having coughing and sneezing for last two days. It's putting me in fever as well. I had tried two cough syrups but nothing is happening. It's the same. Due to coughing my throat is paining so much. Please assist me.

You are suffering from throat infection. I advise you take oral antibiotics for infection. For oral tablets, please consult personally. In the meantime, please do salt water gargles with warm water.

Do not sleep in the afternoon. Use your bed only for sleeping and not for other activities like eating, studying or doing office work. Stick to your routine time of sleep. Do not watch television at times of sleep. Avoid watching horror movies or films in order to get good, peaceful sleep. Keep your mobile switched off or on silent mode during time of sleep. Try to sleep early, so that you have longer hours of sleep. Do not go to sleep at night immediately after having a meal. Include sleep inducing foods like milk and milk products at meals. After waking up in the morning, do light exercises. Even walking or jogging would help considerably as it would improve your blood circulation and will help you keep fresh.

Do not sleep in the afternoon. Use your bed only for sleeping and not for other activities like eating, studying or doing office work. Stick to your routine time of sleep. Do not watch television at times of sleep. Keep your mobile switched off or on silent mode during time of sleep. If you like reading books, please read books before going to bed. This will tire your eyes and they will close leading to sleep. Try to sleep early, so that you have longer hours of sleep. Do not go to sleep at night immediately after having a meal. Include sleep inducing foods like milk and milk products at meals.

Keep the area dry and free from sweat as the infection spreads in the presence of moisture. Wipe the sweat and after bathing and apply powder to the area to keep it dry. Wear loose cotton clothes for proper ventilation. Wash the undergarments everyday and wear them only after proper drying. Apply itchguard 4, 5 times a day to the area. If you do not get better with this , consult any doctor privately for tablets.

You are having a fungal infection. Fungal infection spreads fast in teh case of moisture. After taking bath or sweating, wipe your back with a dry towel. Apply Mycoderm powder to keep your back dry. Wear loose cotton clothes for ventilation of air. Apply ring-guard cream to the red rings three-four times a day for 7 days. If you take care of the fungal infection, your itching will also stop.

Heart attack is due to blocked blood supply to the heart which can occur due to spontaneous blood clot or due to chronic formation of cholesterol plaques in the blood vessels supplying the heart. The symptoms of heart attack are: constricting pain the chest in the midline or on the left side of the chest and may get directed or radiated towards the left shoulder or neck or the left arm and left hand. It is accompanied by profuse sweating. It may be accompanied by nausea or vomiting but not always. The person who gets a heart attack gets very anxious. Prompt treatment and urgent hospital consultation is required if a heart attack is suspected.

Eat high fibre diet like green leafy vegetables and fruits. Do not eat junk fast food like burger, pizza and foods involving breads. These foods increase flatulence and lead to sluggish bowels. Drink lot of water (7, 8 glasses of water every day). Take 2 large meals (lunch and dinner) and 3, 4 small meals in between (including breakfast).

Doing regular exercise, not having Junk food then also ringworm is not cure, why?

Avoid watching horror or suspense movies or tv shows especially at night. Practise yoga and meditation. If anything is worrying you, do not hesitate to discuss with your parents, relatives or friends.

If you are into reading books, please read a book before you go to sleep as it causes eye strain and will induce sleep. Have a quick bath before you go to sleep. It can induce sleep. Avoid gadgets like mobile and television during sleeping. Keep mobile preferably on silent. Fix your time of sleeping and adhere to the schedule.

I am suffering from tb and I am on medication fr d past 2 months I ve been taking akt 4, however I just want 2 confirm that on a particular day I took red capsule bfr breakfast however all the other 3 tablets I took @ night. Will it cause any problem.

It will not create any problem, but try to avoid it in future. Take your tablets regularly for the prescribed time frame. Do not miss any dose. Taking incomplete and irregular tb treatment has resulted in multi drug resistant tb which would then require more expensive drugs and it also has high failure rate.

Fever with chills, headache, sore throat, cough, running nose, body ache. Flu is not dangerous to humans when properly treated including supportive treatment. Wash hands. Carry hand sanitizer. Avoid crowded places. Sneeze into the elbow of your hand to prevent spread of infection. Avoid touching public handles. Drink lot of water and eat fruits. Take citrus fruits like lemon, sweet lemon, amla (indian gooseberry) which increases our resistance power. Sleep 7, 8 hours everyday. Do light exercises everyday. Even walking or jogging will help. After coming back home from public place, please wash your hands to prevent acquiring infection and from spreading it to our family members. Do not take stress. It will maintain your immunity and increase your resistance power against flu.

Do meditation and breathing exercises. Yoga can definitely help you. What thoughts come to your mind when you try to sleep. I suppose they are of the recent television soap or recent movie that you watched. Try to switch off the television and mobile at least for two, three hours before sleep. If you are not into reading books, please start now. Read books before your sleep time. This may cause eye strain and induce sleep. Please do not read newspapers for they may be full of bad news and would deprive you of sleep. Use your bed only for sleeping and not for other activities like meals or studies. Do not drink stimulants like tea or coffee 2, 3 hours before sleep. Minimise drinking cold drinks.
