hello sir, have small and frequent meals. take high protein and high calorie diet. take milk and milk products .take milk with dates, milk with jaggery, paneer, tofu,sprouts, soy milk, whole pulses,.don't skip your meals and breakfast . do stretching and cycling daily.

Hello Lybrate User, If you are underweight, then you want to gain a balanced amount of muscle mass and subcutaneous fat, not a bunch of unhealthy belly fat. Therefore, it is absolutely very important to eat mostly healthy foods even if you are trying to gain weight. Follow this tips to gain weight and to be healthy - * You need to eat more calories than your body burns in order to gain weight. * Protein forms the building blocks of your muscles. Eating sufficient protein is required to gain muscle weight instead of just fat. * High-protein foods include meats, fish, eggs,  many dairy products, legumes, nuts and others. * In order to gain weight, eat at least 5 meals per day and make sure to eat plenty of fat, carbs and protein. * Don’t drink water before meals. This can fill your stomach and make it harder to get in enough calories. * Drink milk. Drinking whole milk to quench thirst is a simple way to get in more high-quality protein and calories. * Get enough sleep. Sleep for 7 to 8 hours. If possible take afternoon nap for half an hour. * Do exercise - Go to a gym and lift, 3-4 times per week. Lift heavy, and try to increase the weights and volume over time. Take care.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand weight gain can't be hurried. Weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Weight gain is all about taking more calories than you burn. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps weight gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 main and mid meals a day. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, starchy vegetables, rice, bread, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, ghee, cream in your meals. Just eating sugary, sweet foods is not good. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite. Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

Hello, That's, quite low. She needs to increase her iron, protein and folic acid intake. Anaemia mothers run always, a, risk of carrying baby with abnormalities and other problems. It can endanger both mother and unborn baby. Ensure that she is on diet prescribed by a nutrition expert before you think of starting a family.

Start your day with the higher calorie foods such as whole grains, nuts, seeds, dairy product. Dry fruits contain more calories than the fresh fruits. Avoid junk food. Add healthy fats to your diet, starchy vegetables like sweet potato, corn etc. Also, check with doctor as it could be due to certain health problems or having a very high metabolism.

Hello. There are few reasons of being underweight. It can be due to lack of physical activity, hereditary, eating disorders and chronic diseases Mainly an underweight person will have lower immunity levels and can easily fall prey to illness and infections and moreover the rate of recovery in underweight people is slower than in healthy individuals. Eat your meals on time and add 500 calories. The amount of calories you take in should be more than the amount of calories you burn. Never skip your breakfast.(always prefer homemade food) Sleep on time. If you sleep late, that eventually disturbs hormones in your body. Basically it is important to sleep before midnight because that sleep is known to be the healing sleep for the body but unfortunately due to our lifestyles most of the people don't get it these days. Also gets 7 to 8 hours of sleep each day. Avoid junk food at any cost. Eat calorie dense food (which includes calorie dense milk shakes). Gaining weight involves consistent eating. Increase your portion size. If for example you usually eat 3 chapatis, then start eating 4th one.

How To Stop Food Craving During Weight Loss

Know the difference between real hunger and a craving: 

When you want to solve a problem you attack its roots. As mentioned earlier, hunger is your physical need, while craving is your emotional need and will die off in 10 – 15 minutes, you should never suppress hunger. But its best to suppress your craving if you are watching your weight. It is just a matter of 10 – 15 mins, then the cravings will wash off automatically.

Know the triggers: cravings are usually triggered responses. You need to know what makes you crave for a certain thing. Knowing the triggers and avoiding them can help you achieve the health goal. Ex – if you crave for sweets post lunch / dinner meals, chew on some fennel seeds / roasted sounf or chew on a sugar free gum immediately after the meals. Strong flavors of these foods will divert your mind and you will not crave.

Distract yourself: cravings are all in the mind, and hence the key to controlling them also depends on how well you distract your mind. We know that cravings don’t last long, hence when you crave for something, engage yourself in some work or call a friend or go for a walk. Don’t get into watching television. A lot of people tend to crave for food all the more while watching television.

Brush your teeth – I suggest this to a lot of my clients. And they benefit from it. If you crave for something while you are at home, it is best to brush your teeth with a minty paste. The strong taste of the paste will help you overcome all your cravings.

Don’t starve yourself: hunger can also trigger cravings. So if you are wondering about how to stop food cravings, the key is in your hand. All you need to do is eat! studies have confirmed that people who eat small frequent meals crave less for sugary foods than those who are stuck with 3 meal pattern.

Don’t skip breakfast: it is advisable that you do not skip breakfast. Consuming high fibre food with lots of liquid for breakfast will assure an energetic day ahead with no food cravings.

Get enough sleep: in a university of chicago study, researchers found that people who slept only four hours a night for two nights had an 18 percent decrease in leptin, a hormone that tells the brain there is no need for more food, and a 28 percent increase in ghrelin, a hormone that triggers hunger. This causes an increase in appetite and a preference for calorie-dense, high carbohydrate foods like potato chips, cookies, etc. So make sure you sleep well for a minimum of 6 hours at a single strech to have a healthy functioning mind and tongue.

Eat healthy food if you have craving: if you still are struggling with craving, try to go for healthy food rather than junk food. You can grab a carrot instead of french fries, eat an apple instead of a burger and have popcorn instead of potato chips.

In recent years, improved techniques have made liposuction safer, easier, and less painful. These newer techniques include:

Tumescent liposuction. A local anesthetic is used to numb the area of your body where the tube will be inserted.

Ultrasound assisted liposuction. This technique uses ultrasound to liquefy the fat, which makes it easier to remove. This technique may be particularly helpful in removing fat from the neck, upper abdomen, sides, and back.

Laser-assisted liposuction. This technique uses low-energy waves to liquefy the fat, which is removed through a small cannula.

Liposuction is usually done as an outpatient  procedure in a properly equipped doctor's office, ambulatory surgery center, or hospital. In general, it does not require an overnight hospital stay unless a large volume of fat is being removed. Local anesthesia is used in some cases. And you may or may not be given a sedative to help you relax. If a large area or volume of fat is being treated, general anesthesia or deep sedation with a local anesthetic may be used.

HI lybrate-user, When we are lean, the ratio of muscle percentage remains higher then fat percentage. And muscle needs more energy to maintain themself. If you are doing gym, you should increase your food intake. Specially, prior 1/2 hr to gym take fresh juice or fruit or any carbohydrate source and after 1/2 hour consume protein source like milk shakes, soaked seeds, dry fruits, sprouts, paneer, egg chicken etc.

There are no food items that can specifically bring about changes in your arms. Do not expect such things as there is nothing scientific about it. Invest time in healthy habits (eating healthy and balanced diet and exercising every day. Join a gym if needed ).
