I am diabetic, having hypertension and heart disease, can I take thyronorm tablets.
Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. To treat hypothyroidism only available drug is Levothyroxine tablets. Hence, if you have that condition, then it may be necessary to take Thyroxine tablets. But I can only give a proper yes or know based on actual TSH value, BP reading plus some details on the heart condition. Since nothing is mentioned, it is difficult to give any opinion. Thanks.

Thanks for contacting with your health concern 1. Check with other blood parameters like blood sugar, low thyroid, cholesterol level and sedentary lifestyle as the cause of weight gain. - Remember that starvation is not the right way to lose weight. Take the right type of diet and eat heartily and develop healthy eating habits, i.e. I. Do not eat only 2 large meals a day. It leads to overeating due to hunger. Take snacks in between. It is advisable to eat a good breakfast and light lunch and dinner. Ii. Keep a quiet and pleasant atmosphere in the dining hall. Watching TV while eating, talking, arguments, angry discussions all lead to overeating. Iii. Eat slowly; chewing each bite thoroughly gives a feeling of satiation. Iv. Learn to calculate the calories consumed as well as the calories burnt, and maintain the balance every day. 2. Brisk walking for 45 minutes every day, including Yogasanaas and Pranayama which should be learned under expert guidance. Items that actually help are onion, garlic, soya bean, curds of skimmed milk, apple. 3. Consult an Endocrinologist for any hormonal problem and if everything is normal, make an appointment with a Dietitian for a comprehensive diet chart. PS. For normalizing vitamin D level and medicine to correct high cholesterol level kindly consult me on Lybrate itself.

Keep ice which will reduce the inflammation and that will there by reduce the pain Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired that can also be reason to have frequent pain in the whole body especially in the waist. Once the oxygen levels in the blood comes down it automatically leads to improper functioning of the joints and muscles. It is also due to vacuum created in the joints as once the body lacks oxygen automatically the body becomes arid and that is one reason to get frequent pain the body ie. More prone to get pain the waist. The hip muscles become tired thereby straining in a day with any physical activity might lead to waist / hip pain. And also wear MCR chappals which will help you to prevent the weight falling on the hip while standing.

I am 66, male and have been having pain in the lower most waist below spinal cord end since last week. I thought it might have been due to lifting heavy and weighty bags while traveling from Chennai to hyderabad and hence took a variety of pain killers besides applying pain balms but the pain still persists. This has hindered my daily morning walking habits too.

That is called as Lumbar Vertebrae. And there are 5 Lumbar Vertebrae and the 5th Lumbar Vertebrae is anatomically is located in the lower end where the body weight is taken and it is generally fused with If your pain is there for many years then it is chronic pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. You've probably heard that high blood pressure is a problem. Sometimes blood pressure that is too low can also cause problems. Blood pressure is the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Each time your heart beats, it pumps out blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is highest when your heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic pressure. When your heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is the diastolic pressure. Your blood pressure reading uses these two numbers. Usually they're written one above or before the other, such as 120/80. If your blood pressure reading is 90/60 or lower, you have low blood pressure. Some people have low blood pressure all the time. They have no symptoms and their low readings are normal for them. In other people, blood pressure drops below normal because of a medical condition or certain medicines. Some people may have symptoms of low blood pressure when standing up too quickly. Low blood pressure is a problem only if it causes dizziness, fainting or in extreme cases, shock. Certain medicines and substances can lead to low blood pressure, including:     * Alcohol     * Anti-anxiety medicines     * Certain antidepressants     * Diuretics     * Heart medicines, including those used to treat high blood pressure and coronary heart disease     * Medicines used for surgery     * Painkillers Other causes of low blood pressure include:     * Nerve damage from diabetes     * Changes in heart rhythm (arrhythmias)     * Not drinking enough fluids (dehydration)     * Heart failure You can do a few things to prevent low blood pressure     * Drinking more fluids     * Getting up slowly after sitting or lying down     * Not drinking alcohol     * Not standing for a long time     * Using compression stockings so blood does not collect in the legs Get these test done to find cause of blood pressure problems tests include Thyroid functions, ECG, ECHO.

My Doctor recommended me Storvas 20 for 3 months. Many a times, I consume alcohol moderately to get sleep and I read that post consumption of alcohol, taking Storvas 20 will impact lever. Can I take Storvas 20 during day instead of night?

Since your job's requirements. I would suggest that you need to meet a nutritionist and get right regime for quality and quantity of food you are taking with proper timings. Secondly start cycling in the open and not in a gym than walking as it will help you more.

So I went to the gym for a month this past June and developed this pain at the back of my heel which used to persistent but now it still hasn't vanished and it not regular. It's comes and goes at times. It could be something related to back and posture. It is there sometimes on walking up in the morning and goes away after a while. Also the I feel mild pain when I press the back of my heel. I google a lot abt it could be achilles tendonitis. What do you think? How can I know for sure what it is? Could be a fracture? P.s in the gym I used to do cardio everyday treadmill cycling and crosswalk .is it bcz of that or lifting weights? Some clarity would help a lot.

If you have pain in both the TA (Tendo Achilles) then it is due to the ligament injury or probably any neglected injury of the past, either a cut injury or being trapped in a cycle while sitting behind. Just rule out the cause and the best treatment would be to keep ice in a tub (extremely cold) and automatically it will heal. Also wear MCR chappals to reduce the pain.

The compression of the sciatic nerve should be around the right side that's the reason you have pain in the left side. That's the reason you cannot sit or stand and it is exactly around the L5 vertebrae where the sciatic nerve passes by. It can also be due to the strain on the left leg, try wearing MCR chappals which would help you to get relieved from pai Physiotherapy Treatment If you have low back pain and sciatica you can undergo intermittent pelvic traction where in your half of your body weight will be added in the electronic traction so that that would help you to reduce the pain, along with Interferential therapy stimulations which would help you to get relieved from the radiating pain. Apply ice for the pain to get subsided immediately. You shoulder will become stiff and the movements would be diminished. For the right hand pain it might be due to carpal tunnel syndrome, where the pain will be felt in the wrist. You can do hot water fermentation/ wax therapy for shoulder and for the wrist pain (hand pain) you can do ice therapy which will reduce the pain.

For Ankylosing Spondylitis the best suggestion to do general aerobic exercises which includes breathing and all the other exercises which involves the total movements of the proximal joints ie. Neck, shoulder, elbow in the upper limb and in the lower limbs, trunk, hip, knee movements which will facilitate to improve the normal range of motion of the joints thereby improving the blood circulation.
