How Stress Kills Your Fertility?

How Stress Kills Your Fertility?

Now-a-days, the entire world along with the inhabitants have become so fast-paced that the most common matter which affects almost everyone is stress. Getting stressed is not only unhealthy for your body and has an impact on every aspect of life including fertility. You might be wondering that how stress can affect your fertility as they sound unrelated. Read on to understand. Till date, though no direct correlation between stress and infertility has been established, it has been observed that if a couple who is trying their best to conceive is under stress, there appears to be a problem. Now, have a look at few of the impacts that stress has on fertility.

How stress affects fertility?
Too much stress has an impact on the proper functioning of the hypothalamus. It is that part of the brain which has the responsibility of sending as well as receiving all type of signals from the reproductive system. The menstrual cycle is one of the most complex communicating systems between the brain and ovaries, and thus stress may affect the fertility cycle. In this manner, stress may delay the ovulation, and in severe cases, it may also prevent the women from ovulating.

Another point that needs to be mentioned is that due to stress fewer mature eggs may be available. Some of the studies focus on the point that the women, who were stressful as well as anxious regarding their IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization), possessed approximately twenty percent fewer eggs than they usually could produce that are viable for fertilization.

Dealing with stress
Different women have their way of dealing with stress. Thus, the impact this unwanted issue has on a woman might not be similar to the reactions of another woman. Many people start to gain weight in such stressful periods while some lose a lot of fat. A fact is sure that stress is not at all healthy and good for an aspiring mother.

So, now that you are aware of stress and infertility and how stress affects your fertility, the best possible course is to eliminate stress from your life as much as possible in a systematic manner. To reduce stress, you must have an adequate amount of sleep and also practice exercise on a regular basis. You may also opt for other habits like practicing yoga, meditation, prayer, seek counseling, etc.

Thus, the bottom-line is, if you are trying to get pregnant, either naturally or through IVF due to genetic or medical reasons, relieving yourself from stress is crucial. If you are willing to know more about stress and infertility and how stress affects your fertility, then you may consult with your physician who would guide to adopt necessary measures.

I get angry and irritated easily. And when I get angry I blurt out everything and anything hurtful to others. Then when I cool down I regret my misdoings and feel sad and keep crying. I promise I won't do it again but then when I am angry I can't control myself. My married life isf greatly affected due to this. Advice please.

Hi. There has to be a root cause to your anger. Any stress or underlying cause. Anger in itself is not a problem but expressing it in wrong ways is a problem. I advise you to consult psychologist for therapy and counseling.

I am being treated for OCD from July 2015 and currently I am on fluvoxamine 100 mg in morning and evening, but when I take morning dose I feel drowsy all the time, so I asked my doctor and started taking 200 mg together in evening itself And after that I am not feeling sleepy in morning now but I find difficulty sleeping in night after taking this dose. Shall I stop taking it in evening and go back to usual dose.

Does regular crying effects us?
Unless the crying is not very frequent and for for trivial reasons it does help to vent out emotions, no shame in that. All the best.

Hello You can try to break your work into small targets and take 5 10 mins break in between work. During the break do something that you like, like listening to music. Actually it is difficult to suggest something without knowing the whole scenario. I would suggest you to take some sessions on coping skills from a clinical psychologist. Some tips which I can give are like Sleep 8 hours After going to bed do not touch your phone or tv When you go home from work, try to stay away from work mentally Take out time for pleasurable activities Break the long term goals of a day into short terms goals and in between take small breaks. More you can learn to cope if you visit a professional face to face or take online sessions.

It's OK to feel some stress that motivates you. But too much of stress is counterproductive. Just relax. You are young. Just work hard and leave everything to God. Do deep breathing exercises. Make a schedule. Work on your weaknesses. Consult for counseling and therapy.

1. Try anger management courses - enroll yourself in these curses, they certainly help 2. Physical activity like exercises have a great bearing on the mind too, it makes you more confident and calm. Workout for 40 minutes daily - walking, gym, cycling, pick any activity but practice it for 5 days a week
