Don't skip breakfast. Eat regular meals. Eat plenty of fruit and veg. Get more active. Drink plenty of water. Eat high-fibre foods. Read food labels. Use a smaller plate.

Eat a high-protein breakfast. Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice. Drink water a half hour before meals. Choose weight loss-friendly foods (see list. Eat soluble fiber. Drink coffee or tea. Eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods. Eat your food slowly.

I am diabetic from 12 years. Nowadays glucose level of me is more than normal. Daily walking is approx 8 kms. I have done HBA1C is 7.2% but FBS is 220 and PP is 270. Taking medicine AMARYL MV2 and GALVUS 50 twice a day. But today FBS 216. Please advise me what will I do for normal level.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. At 40 years, HbA1c% should be closer to 6.8%, to say one has good control. From the glucose levels mentioned, it is clear that present treatment is not helping in controlling blood glucose level. Ideally FBG should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Therefore, we need to have a re-look at the present treatment, dietary intake and extent of daily exercise. We may have to change the present drugs or add one or more compounds to the current treatment. It is better if you come in a private conversation (paid consultation) with all the details, then I will be able to guide and even prescribe the medication required. Thanks.

Eat 4 to 5 small meals spaced 3 to 4 hours apart. (speeds up metabolism and assures a continuous supply of nutrients to the body) drink plenty of water avoid fatty foods and foods high in simple sugars don't skp meals or fast in attempt to lose weight (fasting slows metabolism) engage in weight training to increase lean muscle mass engage in low intensity aerobic exercise, i.e. Stationary biking, 30 minutes per day, 3-4 days per week stick to the 65-70% carb, 15-20% protein, and 10-15% fat per meal guideline don't lose more than 1 to 2 pounds per week, if you are losing weight at a faster rate your are most likely loosing lean muscle mass and not consuming enough calories or essential nutrients prepare your meals ahead of time, schedule eating times into your daily schedule to avoid overtraining, budget your time to allow for 8 hours of uninterupted sleep per night.

Eat More. Eat more calories than your body burns. Eat More Meals. Small meals are easier to eat than big ones. Eat Caloric Dense Foods. Food high in carbs and/or fats has more calories per serving. Eat More Protein. Go Liquid. Track Calories. Lift Heavy. Be Consistent.

Maximize muscle building. The more protein your body stores—in a process called protein synthesis—the larger your muscles grow. Eat meat. Eat more. Work your biggest muscles. But first, have a stiff drink. Lift every other day. Down the carbs after your workout. Eat something every 3 hours.
