Asked for male, 60 years old from Bangalore

I am 59 years old, Schizophrenic since 1987. I was put on various drugs since then and got relief. Of late, I am having hallucinations and delusions and hence am prescribed Trinicalm Plus 1-0-1 and Sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1. There is relief. But Trifluoperazine is causing me mild itching. My Psychiatrist has told me that this drug is also an anti-histamine and hence itching might be due to something else, but to take cetrizine, if only itching persists. I am taking cetrizine 10 mg 1-0-0, since a week and there is no itching. My question is whether to continue cetrizine as long as I am on Trifluoperazine or just stop after taking for a week? Also confirm whether cetrizine has got any side effects or is it habit forming? KIndly be specific in answers.

You ahve to stop cetirizine and try to to find out he allergen and avoid it . Cetirizine can be habit forming

Hi, I have a health concern about my mother She is 52 and has lost a lot of weight in the last few months. She is also a sugar patient. Her sugar levels are now normal but previously it was about 240. And she is also taking medicines for depression For the past 15 years. The meds are sizopin and nitravet. She also smokes excessively throughout the day. She has been smoking for the past 5 years but never lost weight. Again I would like to tell you even though she has been taking these meds and smoke g she has never lost weight. But her weight has dropped drastically since the past few months. She has always been a healthy lady (as in weight) But now we can see her veins. Please help me what should I do. What kind of tests do we need to run. Do we need to consult the psychiatrist or a nutrition expert or general physician. Please help me.

Uncontrolled sugar can also cause weight loss and also chronic smoking. Also get a chest X-ray (to rule out Tuberculosis and other chest issues) alongwith Ultrasound Abdomen.

I am on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0, trazodone 50 mg 0-0-1 for depression and cizorest 200 mg 0-0-1 and sizopin 25 mg 0-0-1 for schizophrenia. There is a lot of relief from the above drugs for the above conditions. I am put on alprazolam 0.25 1-1-1 for anxiety and panic attacks. This is only a confirmation and as a second opinion. Does alprazolam 0.25 mg 1-1-1 relieve my anxiety and panic attacks? Is it habit forming and will it harm my body in the long run? Please confirm. This question is to a qualified and a competent psychiatrist only. I am ending this paragraph as I have got great trust with your team.

Your medications are well prescribed. Alprazolam does reduce anxiety and panic attacks, and should be taken for a short term only. On a longer run, it is very much habit forming and does cause harm. All the best.

She has been suffering from mental illness (schizophrenia) for a long time (for about 10 years). She has been taking medicines regularly. These days she is taking sizopin-100+50, luramax-40 & zolfresh-5 mg. We would like to know whether this disease is curable or only treatable. Will the patient suffer from it throughout his/life? We would be obliged if you would kindly let us know whether such patients can get married. Will marriage aggravate the illness if at all they get married? Although she is taking medicines daily, sometimes she is uttering meaningless words, she is not mixing with others and she is not interested in anything. However, sometimes she watches movies etc in mobile phones. Is better treatment available in any special hospital for such illness?

I am suffering from depression/anxiety and schizophrenia. For depression/anxiety, I am put on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0 and for schizophrenia I am put on amisant 200 mg 0-0-1 and sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1. There is lot of relief from these drugs. Of late, I am put on rivotril 0.5 mg 0-1-0 and alprazolam 0.25 mg 1-1-1 as a tranquilizer cum anti-anxiety drug. My query is just a confirmation cum second opinion only. My query is :- can alprazolam and rivotril be taken together as both of them belong to a same class of medicine viz benzodiazepine? Please confirm.

It is not advisable for them to be taken together, and they are harmful on longer run too. Discuss with your psychiatrist and get things modified.

For the treatment of schizophrenia, I will not go for homoeopathic medicines but through ayurveda. Do I need prescription for ayurveda herbs? We can instead read the label for dosage instructions. Yes, it is confirmed by a psychiatrist (3 times) that I am diagnosed with schizophrenia and the psychiatrist (member of indian psychiatric society) prescribed me sizopin 25 mg (1/2 or 1 at 7 pm) and amisulpride 100 mg (1 0 2) on 1st november 2021 but I don’t want to start these psychiatric/allopathic medicines for the treatment of schizophrenia and prefer to opt for ayurveda herbs. And there are some psychiatrists who are trained in ayurveda, so I can seek help from such person.

I have got depression, anxiety and schizophrenia since a long time. For depression and anxiety, I am put on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0. For schizophrenia, I am put on fluanxol 1 mg 1-0-0 and 3 mg 0-0-1, which is also a good anti-depressant and anti-anxiety drugs and sizopin 25 mg 0-0-1. I have just stared fluanxol, say, only since 3 days. This combination is yet to give me relief. I feel, with prolonged use, say, for 20 days, the remission will occur. My question is with prolonged use, will I get relief? This question is to a qualified and competent psychiatrist only. Please answer to the point and do not tell me to consult my psychiatrist. Please confirm.

I am on the following drugs:- a) Zosert 150 mg 1-0-0 b) Trazolon 50 mg 0-0-1 c) Clonotril 0.25 mg 1-1-1 d) Sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1 e) Fluanxol 1 mg 1-0-0 f) Fluanxol 3 mg 0-0-1 g) Pacitane 2 mg 1-1-0 This is for my depression, anxiety and Schizophrenia. There is a lot of relief. Except of the fact that I am getting frequent asthmatic attacks due to Clonotril. In fact, I am suffering on an asthmatic attack now. I am 21 years old male. While studying in college 1st and 2nd year college I studied well. In the starting of 3rd year, I went to hostel. In the hostel, anyone didn't allow me to study and misused me and they stole my things. As a result ,I got many arrears and I think why they are doing such a things to me. And I often get unwanted thoughts of suicide and I get shooting pains and unwanted shaking of body. I suffered a lot. I also have feeling that someone is watching me and controlled by someone. Then by saying to parents we went to a psychiatrist and he said that I have some mood disorders and preferred medicines such as clozapine etc. Then,whenever I went to hospital he put intramuscular injection that is Invega Sustenna. This is continued for 1 year. Due to these medications I have side effects such as dry mouth, weight gain etc. I get dreams about the friends who misused me. After taking these medicines I get unwanted thoughts but not frequently as before. How to get complete rid of unwanted thoughts? Can I stop taking medicines? Whether the side effects will go away? If not there is a solution in Ayurveda?

My Son 24 years, early very shy, and fear to face any groups, even driving, we have consulted many psychologists and psychiatrists, mostly diagnosed that avoidance psychology & depression, around 2 years of treatment mood improve medicines plus scholar talks, no changes, while these days last Dec 2017, suddenly started a hearing sound his throat & psychiatric hospital admitted, first day loosed his memory, while 2 days was violent shouting with ugly words he never used, psychiatrist found schizophrenia due to avoidant physiology strong, many medicines was resistive for him, now Clozapine 200 mg, plus Aripiprazole 10 mg while this medicine, involuntarily muscle movements and epilepsy symptoms showing, now taking Valprol CR 300 twice a day with above medicines, present he is laying and stay at home only, no moving out or any activity, any contacts care of these type patients to bring them social active?
