I am a patient of bipolar disorder and taking allopathic treatment from a psychiatrist. I am having sleep problems. Can I take aripiprazole 10 mg and zolpidem 10 mg together? Single medicine is not helping. Alternatively can melatonin 5 mg supplement help. Please advise.

Hello, Zolpidem is a good hypnotic sedative medicine. It works best if taken on an as-and-when-required basis. You should follow the principles of sleep hygiene for a good restorative sleep. Also, melatonin, if you wish to start, take a dose of 3 mg rather than 5. Best wishes

I am taking paroxetine, quetiapine 25, zolpidem I have so much anxiety I am depressed all the day I had left alcohol before 5 month back after that I am suffering with gallstone .i have unrealistic fear feeling of die everyday I am to much tense kindly suggest that medicine is not helping to much. Doctor I am taking oxcarbazepine 300 mg and ativan 1 mg and lonazep 0.5 mg at night for mood disorder for last 10 years. One doctor advised me to take zolpidem 10 mg at night and quit ativan and lonazep. Doctor kindly guide.

your doctors advice is right
ativan and lonazep both are benzodiazepines which cause dependence. Meaning you can get addicted to them.
In the long term the addiction will result in memory disturbances, gait disturbances etc which you must avoid right now.
Reduce it slowly over two months but do reduce it.

Hi I was diagnosed with mixed anxiety and depression at first my Dr. asked me to start with fluoxetine (20 mg) with mirtazapine (7.5 mg) but whenever I try to taper mirtazapine (7.5 mg) it gives me withdrawal symptoms like sleeplessness and restlessness then my Dr. gave me zolpidem 10 once in a night and now after 45 days my Dr. suggested me to go cold turkey with zolfresh 10 and continue with fluoxetine (40 mg) once in morning and olanzotic plus 20 mg/5 mg tablet once in night I just want to ask like if I go cold turkey with zolfresh 10 will it cause any withdrawal symptoms because after taking zolpidem I am facing episodes of depressions and anxiety.

Sir I consult psychiatrist for this problem and he gave me zolpidem (sleeping pills). Sir when I take zolpidem I get sleep for 3-4 hrs and when not use sleeping pills then I am not able to sleep and my mind become aware of breathing (inhale and exhale of air through nose) and belly movement during breathing. Sir what is the real problem I cannot understand and I am not able to disengage my mind from it. And how long I need to take sleeping pills (it will become habit), the real problem still remains untreatable. Sir pls help me to come out of this condition so I can have better sleep without having sleeping pills.

I used the multani mitti n lemon face pack dat you have advised me to. Earlier I used so many medicines creams to treat pimples and their dirty marks. But I feel so sad dat pimples never stop coming. I have been suffering from ocd, depression and insomnia since when I was 8 or 10 years old. I am taking treatment for it since 8 years after consulting with psychiatrist. Since last 1 year I am taking fluoxetine and zolpidem 10. I tried many medication but not helped for ocd and after taking fluoxetine 40 mg obsessive thought and compulsive behaviour which was so debialating is almost recover, you can say 99%. But insomnia is not going to heal. Whenever I took zolpidem that night only I could sleep. And I felt high when I use to take zolpidem and use to take 2 to 3 tablet instead of 1. So, I was worried that I got addicted to it and switched to new e-consultation doctor from docsapp. She was psychiatrist and ahe had mbbs and md degree. She prescribed me fluoxetine 40 and clonazepam 0.25 mg at morning and lamotrigine od 50, clonazepam 1 mg and mirtazapine 15 mg at night. Now my sleeping problem is resolved. Is this right treatment? Can I trust doctor from internet of docaspp? She added lamotrigine od 50 mg because I told her that only night time after reaching home from duty I feel very depressed so she told me that it is mood fluctuating anf lamotrigine will help. Should I trust her because she is from docsapp and I had not saw her face to face. Please help.

Dear Doctors, This is in reference with my Wife who survived a stroke in Sep 2015. Since then she has shown good recovery and is able to identify people and walk without any support, I wish to know how zolpidem will be beneficial for her as I came across many articles of recovering people after this drug was used on them. She is undergoing the speech therapy for her slurred speech and Physiotherapy to improve the motor movements, I was wondering if this drug can be used to expedite her recovery (only after consulting her Neuro Doc) Any help on her will be greatly appreciated.
