You are happily substituting one substance with another. In other words, you probably have an addictive personality for various reasons and may need top enter a rehabilitation program to completely deal with the issue of addiction. All these substances are known to cause damage to your system and are therefore ill-advised.

Already another doctor answered that it may be a sleep disorder. You need to get diagnosed and assessed properly by a psychiatrist.
Both diazepam and clonazepam are of the same group of drugs called benzodiazepine. Both have addiction potential in vulnerable persons. The sedation is for longer time in diazepam than clonazepam. Both are dose dependent. Knowing these, if you still want a benzodiazepine only, clonazepam is better, because it acts only for 6-8 hours.

All these medicines is no solution to sleep. Relief is only temporary and mostly habit forming, requiring higher dose and multiple drugs. Consult an experience psychiatrist for systematic withdrawing of drugs. More of counselling and mind realxing techniques and yoga etc.

Dear Stefania,
There are many stages of alcohol intake. Alcohol Dependence syndrome is diagnosed with a set guidelines. When she stops herself, the withdrawal symptoms are rated on a particular scale. Accordingly diazepam or any other benzodiazepine is prescribed for the first 2-3 weeks. Taking diazepam is not risky. It may be even life saving. But for what reason it is taken and for how long she needs to take depends on the doctor's assessment.

Dear lybrate-user, diazepam has some role in reducing the severity the severity of tinnitus but smoking cannabis completely reverses that role. Moreover tinnitus is just a symptom, you need to consult a ent specialist so that a diagnosis can be made ,only then can treatment be started. As far as smoking cannabis is concerned your tinnitus will never be cured unless you completely give it up.

Dear lybrate-user,
They are all tablets to treat schizophrenia. But the dose depends on how much your wife improved and what kind of side effect she is having. Weight gain, sleep improvement, shakiness, salivation, stiffness, etc needs to be assessed periodically to change or alter the dose of these tablets. There are long term side effect of sizodon like prolactin elevation, metabolic syndrome, etc. These things also needs to be weighed against improvement in the follow up with the psychiat...more
