It is very common in diabetics, you should control diabetes strictly. Also reduce stress / anxiety. For other physical causes you need to do blood tests hb, tc, dc, prolactin, tsh and testosterone. Stop smoking if you smoke. Check bp. If you are taking any medicine on regular basis (except for diabetes) then it may be due to side effect of that.

diabetes medication shouldnot be switched suddenly without complete details and history. Even if switched to alternative, the patient needs to be closely monitored. Inspite of insulin, if the post prandial sugar is so high, I would suggest you to please continue with insulin currently but discuss with your mom's physician and kindly raise your concern. Hello how is your control? if it good it is better to continue insulin, that's the main need. Oral drugs may not give good control.
