Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the query. You have mentioned about having diabetes as well as depression. But there is no information on blood glucose, (fasting & pp), hba1c%, lipid profile, dosage of medications being taken, dietary details and extent of daily exercise. With out having all the necessary information, there is no way to advise. Problems with sexual performance are quite often seen as a complication of diabetes, particularly if blood glucose is not well controlled.more

Dear lybrate-user, I understand your concern for your mother's health. First of all I'm not suggesting insulin for your mother but please understand that insulin isn't our enemy! It is the most time tested medical molecule in market for last hundred years and it has save millions of people from premature deaths due to diabetes. Having said that a doctor can help you by titrating all existing oral drugs as well as adding new molecules in treatment can help your mom achieve better blood sugar leve...more

Hi lybrate-user, I understand your concern. If your post meal sugars are not getting controlled since a year. There are two options.
One is - there are few good medicines which have come recently which might help you to reduce your pp sugar. But you should consult your local endocrinologist who will evaluate if they are suitable for you or not.
Second - as you are already on lantus. You can start insulin to help control pp sugars also, which will reduce the no. Of tablets that you need t...more

Even after taking medications for high blood sugar, if the blood sugar is not in control, it indicates that the root cause of diabetes is still not being treated. Allopathy medicines only reduce the blood sugar but do not treat the root cause of the disease. Diabetes is a lifestyle disorder which can be treated only with lifestyle changes. Ayurvedic system of medication digs deeper into the problem and tries to treat the disease from the root. Thats why, although ayurvedic medicines will take ti...more

Looks like that this is the first time diabetes is diagnosed. First thing apart from medication is that she should control her diet and do some physical activity. She has to reduce weight as part of diabetic management. Insulin will give quicker response but oral medicines will take time. Wait for a week ,check the sugar again and consult doctor to adjust the dose.

Hello, thanks for the query.
From the details given I only understand that you are various oral drugs for blood glucose control. But there is no information on fasting, pp glucose levels & hba1c%. By saying "levels are well with in control" I do not get any idea at all. If you are feeling finr and no complaints are there, then it is very good. Based on this info I can not make any further comments. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. However, there is nothing mentioned about fasting, PP glucose levels and HbA1c%. So I am not aware about how well is your diabetes controlled. I am sure you are in a well controlled patient fasting glucose should be <100 mg or closer to `100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% at your age < 7%. As regards some mixture which you are mentioning I have no idea. If you feel it is good then you may take it. Thanks.
