Mr. Lybrate-user, if one has well controlled diabetes then fasting sugar should be closer to 100mg and pp should be 150 to 160 mg/100 ml and hba1c% <7. If you have maintained these readings consistently then diabetes is in control. With that one is able to prevent or postpone the long term complications of diabetes, which are very serious. Yes metformin and voglibose be taken at a same time. Both are the diabetic medications,and Voglibose prevents absorption of sugar from foods whereas the metformin controls insulin effects

For a person with pre-diabetes there is no need for any medication to control blood glucose. Only lifestyle modification and diet changes are sufficient to prevent progression to diabetes.
The very fact that you are on oral antidiabetic drugs that too two different combinations, means you have diabetes. Since there are no levels mentioned or HbA1c%, there is no way to find out what is the condition. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
The details given are unclear. Since there is no mention of actual fasting, PP glucose levels,& HbA1c% there is no way to give any suggestions. Because by saying " sugar level & HbA1c5 are in good control" I do not understand what is considered as normal. thanks.
