Hi! as your fasting sugars are high you need another medicine at night. Voglibose alone at night does not seem to be sufficient.
You may consult me again with your fasting, postprandial sugar levels and hba1c.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. From which it is clear that you have diabetes since last 5 years and are metfoormin, glimiperide & voglibos and also have developed erectile dysfunction (ed). But there is no mention of current glucose levels (fasting & pp, hba1c%, lipid profile, bp readings, dietary pattern & extent of daily exercise. Without all the necessary information there is no way to suggest any medication or give any advise. Please understand...more

Dear lybrate-user,
the medication you are taking for diabetes are standard medication and if your sugar is controlled with it you should continue with it. For peripheral neuropathy good control is the best approach. For sexual problen best to consult a andorogynist. I will not be able to any suggest unani medicine.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the query. You have mentioned about having diabetes as well as depression. But there is no information on blood glucose, (fasting & pp), hba1c%, lipid profile, dosage of medications being taken, dietary details and extent of daily exercise. With out having all the necessary information, there is no way to advise. Problems with sexual performance are quite often seen as a complication of diabetes, particularly if blood glucose is not well controlled.more

Dear lybrate-user, I understand your concern for your mother's health. First of all I'm not suggesting insulin for your mother but please understand that insulin isn't our enemy! Having said that a doctor can help you by titrating all existing oral drugs as well as adding new molecules in treatment can help your mom achieve better blood sugar leve...more

If she is taking all the medicines regularly and following dietary precautions and regular exercise, her insulin will need to be altered. Another type of insulin seems suitable at this stage. you will have to meet a diabetologist and discuss regarding this.

Hi lybrate-user, I understand your concern. If your post meal sugars are not getting controlled since a year. There are two options.
One is - there are few good medicines which have come recently which might help you to reduce your pp sugar. But you should consult your local endocrinologist who will evaluate if they are suitable for you or not.
Second - as you are already on lantus. You can start insulin to help control pp sugars also, which will reduce the no. Of tablets that you need t...more

Even after taking medications for high blood sugar, if the blood sugar is not in control, it indicates that the root cause of diabetes is still not being treated. Allopathy medicines only reduce the blood sugar but do not treat the root cause of the disease. Diabetes is a lifestyle disorder which can be treated only with lifestyle changes. Ayurvedic system of medication digs deeper into the problem and tries to treat the disease from the root. Thats why, although ayurvedic medicines will take ti...more

Looks like that this is the first time diabetes is diagnosed. First thing apart from medication is that she should control her diet and do some physical activity. She has to reduce weight as part of diabetic management. Insulin will give quicker response but oral medicines will take time. Wait for a week ,check the sugar again and consult doctor to adjust the dose.
