Nothing will happen. Anti rabies antibodies will eventually form even if given in intramuscular route. But intradermal route is the specific/potent/ effective in inducing a specific cell mediated immune response thus is the preferred route of administration. So, no need to repeat the dose but make sure the next dose is given intradermally.

Rabies infection is caused by the rabies virus. The virus is spread through the saliva of infected animals. Infected animals can spread the virus by biting another animal or a person.
In rare cases, rabies can be spread when infected saliva gets into an open wound or the mucous membranes, such as the mouth or eyes. This could occur if an infected animal were to lick an open cut on your skin.
You should seek and immediate medical consultation if symptoms are persisting.

Whenever a complete anti rabies vaccination schedule is taken, whether it is the pre exposure or post exposure schedule, the immunity is long lasting, perhaps also life long. However, the protocol is to take two booster doses of vaccine in case of fresh exposure,on day 0 and day 3 .
