Hello, Very difficult to say that one is better than the other drug because both piroxicam and diclofenac have almost similar efficiency with respect to pain reduction. Piroxicam has slightly better acceptance due to lesser gastritis. Otherwise all other side effects are similar.

Lower pole calculus of 6.9 mm shouldnot be obstructing drainage of urine .so surgery is not the first option. Please take plenty of liquids and follow up the calculi with repeat USG. However, if it is causing symptom, then endoscopic treatment like PCNL may be required.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Some patients may develop swelling in lower limbs due to retention of water and sodium following intake of certain NSAIDs like diclofenac. It could be due to not tolerating that drug. So it is better she avoids it. First thing is stop the drug and if needed some antihistaminic may be used. Swelling will go away after stopping the drug. Henceforth, she should avoid using that compound again. Thanks.

If you have localized back pain with
- no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home.
- avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc
- take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days
- take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm
- ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm<...more

Impacted wax is the cause of the ear pain. After putting the ear drops for 10 days the wax will become a little soft & then it has to be syringed out.
Consult an ent surgeon only & do not consult any other specialist or general practitioner. There is a technique of removing the wax without injuring the ear drum.

Few things related to headache so that we can plan the treatment accordingly - if pain is associated with blurred or decreased vision than check your eye sight for refractive error - if the pain is associated with cold and fever than we have to rule out sinusitis as the cause and if the pain is pulsatile in nature and with a throbbing pain usually with an aura than we have to rule out migrane as the cause - if the pain is associated with neck problems than we have to rule out cervical spondylosi...more
