I assume the stone is in the lower end of the ureter. Small size stones upto 6 mm pass out spontaneously if given adequate time (Around 2 weeks).
If the stone is still stuck in the ureter even after 15 days, it is advisable to go for Ureteroscopy and stone removal.

At the age of 38 prostate does not seem to be the cause. It is more likely to be in the urethra where the internal mucosa might have been inflammed due to infection or some trauma. Was there any suggestion of urinary stone in the past. A small stone might have passed out in the stream 20 days back leaving the urinary tract abraded which is causing this pain.
