The pill is not without disadvantages, but most women find that the benefits outweigh the risks. It is quite common for the pill to cause some temporary side effects, which include mood swings, tender or sore breasts, headaches, breakthrough bleeding and spotting, and nausea. These side effects normally go away after a few months. If they don? t pass, you could try a different pill instead. Hi lybrate-user! it can take a few weeks for the urine pregnancy test to become negative. Also, medical termination of pregnancy using mifepristone and misoprostol pills is an unpredictable process and at times might take upto 2-3 weeks to complete. Hence it is recommended that you get an ultrasound done after 2 weeks from the date of pill intake even if your bleeding has stopped to confirm that the process is complete. Hope that helps.

Dear user. ABORTIONS can be performed as early as an intra-uterine pregnancy can be identified by ultrasound, which is usually about 3-4 weeks after your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). In the first trimester, two options are available: Aspiration is done by a physician in the clinic or the Abortion Pill which you take at home. Do not take any decisions before consulting your gynecologist. Take care.

Hello-
Normally the bleeding will continue lightly for one to three weeks after the abortion, but times may vary. The normal menstrual period usually returns after four to six weeks. The heaviest bleeding typically occurs 2-5 hours after using mefipristone and usually slows down within 24 hours.

Unwanted kit contains medications that shouldn’t be taken lightly. If you aren’t pregnant or aren’t sure please don’t take it. Mifepristone is an anti progesterone which can cause serious adverse effects if taken frequently or without proper indications. You have to confirm the pregnancy before taking the kit plus complete all the tablets. If you are taking it as emergency contraceptive there are separate medications available for that purpose.
