Myeloma patient at past she has already taken 4cycle of bortemozip (chemo 16) having Hb 11.2 after giving 3 units of Prbc previously it was 5.6 but now platelet is 0. 38 Wbc is 4000 creatinine 1.68, calcium is 10.3 after transmission of 10 ml calcium gluconate previously it was 7.8 she is taking medicine Renolog, sobisis forte, gebantinin, tydol, thalidomide (THALIX) daily & dexamethasone 40 mg once a week. So further what to do?

Hi I am 32 weeks pregnant with twins babies and their weight is 1950 and 1930 each. My doctor told me to take Dexamethasone injection at 34 weeks. 12 mg x3 for maturity of lungs. I want to know that is it safe to take this steroid injections? Does it has any side effect on babies? I have heard that this injection effect the brain of new born babies and cause mental and anxiety problems in babies after few years of their life. So pls answer my question becoz I am worried whether to take this injections or not? And at what week does a babies lung matures naturally so I can avoid this steroid injections?

Your doctor has correctly advised you inj dexamethasone ,it's given for lung maturation and reduces the nursery stay of babies if born early. Inj dexamethasone has no side effects on baby and babies lung are mature by 37 weeks.

Hello sir. I'm 30 years old. I am suffering from braichail neuritis since last 6 months. MRI report shows c5 c6 c7 disc bulge. I have numbness, tickling and shooting pain starting from scapula to left hand. I have undergone many treatments in orthopaedic, neurologist and pain physician. My NCV and EMG test shows one nerve has lesser amplitude and there is absence of F wave in my left hand. Pain physician has give dexamethasone injection in my C7 T1 region of my neck but pain is still there. Kindly suggest me what is problem with me? I'm waiting for your kind suggestions. Thank you.

I am having a spot like ulcer which is having pains in penis glans and inspite using antifungal and corticosteroids creams there is no improvement. It is there for six months and inspected by dermatologists but no one has paid attention inspite of complain. I am also having severe scrotum dermatitis and presently having treatment to reduce costercoids slowly with mild potency memtosane furoate and use pimecrolimus introduced. I was given clobestolcream treatment and dexamethasone injection so the thing turned to red scrotum syndrome type thing and I am suffering. I just sit full day as it is not possible to do movements. Unfortunately has brought halt to career and setback. I am just waiting to heal.

On 11 jun 2021, steve suffered (a) a bad persistent migraine through the entire day. The migraine worsened when Mr. butler stood up. When he stood up, he felt like his head was going to explode. (b) a bad chesty cough that worsened when he stood up from a seated position or when he moved. He had some phlegm on his chest but only a tiny amount of yellow phlegm was brought up when he coughed. (c) felt utterly exhausted. This feeling was not improved after rest. On 21 june 2021 he was admitted into hospital because steve felt like his lungs were closing up and he needed oxygen to breathe. He was diagnosed with covid-19 pneumonitis, superadded bacterial lower respiratory tract infection and low oxygen levels spo2 with las 85%. He was treated with - high flow nasal oxygen and continuous airway pressure for 8 days from 21 june - 28 june. - dexamethasone for 8 days whilst on respiratory support - bd vte prophylaxis for 8 days whilst on respiratory support - iv then oral co-amoxyclav in the morning of 2 july 2021, he took a liver blood test (alt). The result of the test is that it was rising (24, 52, 85, 225). The doctor said this was most likely related to the co-amoxyclav or dexamethasone received. In the afternoon of 2 july 2021, he was discharged. He was advised to take tinzaparin 4500 units continuously for 7 days to thin the blood to avoid the risk of blood clots in the legs or lungs. He was advised to take lansoprazole 30 mg to remedy his liver continuously for 7 days. On 5 july 2021. Another liver blood test was performed. The result was 300. How bad is this liver test result and is there any advice you can offer to help the liver recovery?

My wife is 62 yrs female. Suffering from cns tuberculosis with multiple tuberculomas since 25th january, 2015. Taking first line medicines from 25th jan. I. E. Rcinex 450/300, combutol 600, pyraziramide 1250 daily empty stomach. Also streptomycine 0.75 injections daily. But after taking 75 injection doctor asked me to stop as she lost hearing from right ear. Combutol is also stopped due to eyes opening become problem in light. Besides dexamethasone 4mg thrice and eption 100 mg bd. Is also given daily along with pentocide dsr bd. After two months mri scan exhibit increase in lessions so doctor started second line treatment for the last 20 days adding ethide 250 mg bd and levofrox 750 mg od. Still having daily body temperature up to 100 which goes down of its own in 8-12 hrs. Body weight is decreasing and weakness rising. What should be done. Vomiting also comes despite taking emset 4 mg sometimes.

Realy bad as she is developing drug side effect. She is under good adv. She is not responding as she is not tolerating medicine even in low dose. Combutol as per her wt should be 1000mg.

I take steroid for immunisation problem (bullous pemphigoid). Initially started with omnacortil 30 mg and then gradually reduced to 5 mg. Then another doctor changed it to dexamethasone 0.5 mg. Later he was reducing it to half tablet for 15 days and then half tablet alternate day for 15 days. Then I used to get boils within 4 - 5 days. Again he used to go back to 0.5 mg daily. This second doctor's medication continued for nearly 1 year. I happened to mentioned it to a friend of mine who has some knowledge and he told me that the human body needs steroid and it produces daily about 4-5 mg of steroid. I would like to know when we person take steroid externally does our body stop producing steroid or the external dose adds to our body's normal production? Also if we take dose on alternate day does our body produce steroid on the days we do not take steroid? I am confused and would be grateful if you clarify this for me. Thank you in advance.

your doctor is tapering steroids which is correct. some conditions need steroids. follow the doctor.

Hlo Dr. my prob is my age is 18 but my body looks like 38 years old too much aged people tell me I feel irritated becoz of this I suffer from hypothyroidism from 8 years my face looks like moon face it is too much big and pulpy people told me do exercise but I am unable to wakeup in early morning in day time also I feel excess tired always wht is the reason for this too much tiredness too much exhausted too much sleeping hours after that also sleeping do not complete in day time I feel sleepy I am too much irritated becoz of these I am unable to do any type of work my all work is pending due to this sometime I feel suicidal feeling due to this lifestyles suggest possible treatments for all these prob I do the check up of morning cortisol 1 time it was normal 2nd time means after 6 months it was low so Dr. told me you have no cushing syndrome is it necessary to do dexamethasone suppression test or not in my case as someone told me for this test.
