Hello – i’m 34 yo and i’m suffering from a frequent urination specially at night that I have to wake up several times to use the rest room since I drink lots of water during my evening workouts. I had a doubt that my prostate may have enlarged, but my neurologist determined that the size of my prostate was normal considering my age. He also looked into my bladder with his bladder scope and found no signs of any infection or tumor or anything. My psa test came back normal, my urine test came back just fine. My bloodwork shows that my sugar level is normal and I am no diabetic or pre-diabetic. I started feeling over a month and a half ago which has not really helped, he put me on anti-biotic (bactrim) which helped a little but not a big deal. I have been taking mirabegron for a week now and I still wake up 3-5 times at night specially on my workout days. I wonder what the problem could still be if everything is normal and that no medication is really getting this of my system. My neurologist says this could be related to my level of stress and that I think about it a lot so it’s not going away. Could that really be the issue? Any advise will be highly appreciated!

Gd evening everyone, here i'm writing this msg for the purpose of seeking advice from all of you regarding a prob that I have been facing since 2017. Actually I have been having a repetitive case of uti since 2017. I have seen many renowned doctors in kolkata particularly in forte, apollo and medica but they could not manage to treat my problem. First time it was mrsa doctor prescribed me with doxycycline which I took for almost a month. The symptoms went away but after 4-5 months it reappeared again. Since that time it's been coming at an interval of 5-6 months. From 2019 onwards the root cause has been e.coli.i have tried doxy, nitrofurantoin, linezolid, bactrim, levo as of now but whenever I take medications the symptoms go away then again reappears after 4 to 5 months. In oct 2021 I got an urs done to check what actually has happened inside but doctor didn't find anything. The most surprising thing is that urine culture doesn't come positive all the time but still the symptoms are present and creatinine level is 1 or sometimes 1.1 nd others blood reports are also normal. Now a days i'm experiencing a pain in my groin areas and back. I think now this untreated infection has led to pyelonephritis don't know what I should do right now. If doctors from forte, apollo can't even treat the prob then whom should I go to with this case? please give me some suggestions to get rid of this permanently.

To rule out the problem get an ultrasound abdomen pelvis and also ct abdo as you have this persistent problem. Refer to a nearby urologist after the reports.

My son 11 years old has bilateral hydro utero nephrosis (moderate dilation of pelivcalceal system and ureter is noted with mild urothelial thickening) and also has cystitis, with bladder wall thickening of 5.6 mm. He spotted blood drops at the end of urination. Bun/creatinine normal. Doctor gave antibiotic and all bacterial and uti symptoms are cleared, took mcug and report is normal. He also has constipation, both usg and ct reported fecal loaded large bowel loops. He is on continuous anti-biotic bactrim at night, suggested to do usg after 4 weeks. He had gross hematuria 2 years ago, that got cleared after 8 days course of sporidex and citralka. Now, my doubts are: 1) why he is getting repeated uti? 2) can anti-biotic alone cure hydro-utero nephrosis? Don't know if hydro nephrosis is due to current cystitis or previous uti 2 years ago. 3) is this treatable or not. Very much worried.

1) most common cause of repeated uti is a bad valve but mcug has ruled that out the next common cause could be residual infections and also ureteric stones and strictures predisposes to urinary tract infection. I would like to see all the reports of your child. To really be able to answer you something concrete. 2) hydroureteronephrosis is dilation of ureter and kidney caused due to a obstruction most common cause of it is renal stones. Other cause include healing scars which block the tube. 3) ...more

First ascertain the cause of the pneumonia
usually the pediatrician will go for sputum or gastric lavage if these are inconclusive or negative results then on has to anyhow involve a chest physician/ pulmonologist to perform pediatric bronchoscopy which apparently I do.
The bronchio alveolar lavage or washings will give good positive results in terms of finding out the bacteria causing pneumonia and one can give antibiotics accordingly for pneumonia.
