Hi, I am 18 years old. I have problem with pimples since a long time. About a year back I consulted a Derm. He treated me for about 6 months. The treatment was Isotretinoin. He prescribed me for a capsule sotret for 3 months daily and one month in alternative days. I also used a Benzoyl peroxide cream 2.5% initially then 5% as per his instruction. He also prescribed some kind of anti biotic for three consecutive days after i consult him every month. He also gave me clyndomycene for fresh pimples. After a 5-6 months of expensive treatment the problem was almost gone. He said to do chemical peels for marks. I did it once but it didn't have much effect. He said i will have to do it 3-4 times to get rid of marks. Since it was expensive i didn't do it. There was no problem of pimples for next 6-8 months. Now it is back again. Is there any treatment for acne for getting rid of it permanent?

Hello, thanks a ton for writing up such a detailed summary. Most people ask such vague questions and i spend 2 days only trying to figure out the entire problem. Coming to your querry, pimples cant be cured completely. They are known for recurrence. And peels will take 3-4 sittings for results. There are peels which will give results in 10 days but are risky(google for jessner's peel). I will be able to help if you could send your pictures. Also mention if you have dandruff and are you on any th...more

Hi lybrate-user. Do not get distressed about your present condition. Always remember stress makes things worse than what it already is. Isotretinoin makes your skin sensitive to hyperpigmentation and tanning not just with direct sun exposure but also to the sunlight inside your home and to the gadget lights (very powerful) and tv light. So remember to always wear your sunscreen even at home and to re apply it after 4-6 hrs. Pls do not try any self/home remedies for this pigmentation you are expe...more

Be sure about its side effect. The drug you are taking is for asthma I suppose. Back pain may be due to many other causes, at your age mostly due to poor posture.

Hello..
Its a very tricky situation..
The fact is that we don’t have exact data regarding what percentage of babies will be affected and what will be the degree of anomalies..
However first trimester exposure of isotretinoin may be associated with anomalies risk in upto 30% of cases ..
By inhibiting neural crest cell migration during embryogenesis they result in cranial neural crest defect termed retinoic acid embryopathy..
