First we have to determine the cause for your tinnitus. It may be pathological or simply physiological. If we cannot find the cause for your tinnitus then we have to make you habituated to it l, so that you will feel no distress or anxious about it. Remember tinnitus is one in thousands of small minute sound produce in various parts of our body with magnified due to its close proximity to auditory system. Try relaxation exercise, congnitive behavioural therapy. Kindly reach out for more help.

I started developing tinnitus two weeks after septum deviation surgery. I am currently around 2.5 months with tinnitus. I then visited dentist and had my impacted wisdom teeth removed and he also said that my wisdom teeth had affected my tmj slightly I had removed the wisdom teeth four weeks before. I have been taking the following supplements.- 1. Gingko biloba extract tablet- bilovas for a month. 2. Tinnicar for about two months I have tinnitus in both my ears my tinnitus sound is like an electrical buzz when the fan is off and when the fan is on I hear static sounds which increase with fan speed I hear tinnitus so loudly when I sleep on my side and especially the tinnitus is heard in that ear which I press to the floor. It's like a medium buzz in the night. Awaiting for your reply thanks and regards, joshua.

Hi lybrate-user. Did the audiologist also perform an impedance audiogram?. If not please get it done. Tmj disorder can cause tinnitus, ear pain and sensation of ear fullness. But since you have only developed these symptoms post nasal surgery. Get an impedance audiogram also done. Also use a saline nasal spray, steam inhalation and warm saline gargles for a few days. If it doesn't help talk to an ent specialist.

Dear lybrate-user, relax and calm down, your tinnitus is not associated with hearing loss so it narrows down the diagnosis considerably. The current medication of yours will not have much impact on your tinnitus status. Please consult your nearby specialist or feel free to book an appointment with me so that further details can be shared between us. Sincerely

1. Almost all people at some point in their lives experience tinnitus. Tinnitus does not have a cure, however, it may be controlled. How severe is your tinnitus on a scale of 1 to 10?

2. Get your ears examined to rule out any ear wax which is one of the commonest causes of Tinnitus. Also rule out any perforation of the ear drum. Decreased hearing also makes one more aware of tinnitus. Get a PTA (Pure Tone Audiogram) done. If you have a hearing loss, a...more
