Mr Surendra, You are on the right treatment, Hypothyroidism can only be controlled by thyroxine treatment. What are the latest or current TSH levels? Are your symptoms in control? If not then there may be a need to increase the dosage of thyroxine tablets. I am sure you are aware that this is a life long therapy.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
TSH level 0.054 mU/L is a bit too low. This means your present dosage is higher than required. You may have to reduce it by 12.5 mcg or 25 mcg per day. Once new dosage is begun, check TSH after 6 weeks, to see if there is desired change. TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. Your present TSH can lead to symptoms due to excess thyroxine. Thanks.

Since you are taking the drug regularly, the reports keep coming normal. That does not mean that hypothyroidism is cured. The moment you stop treatment, tsh level will go up, plus all t...more

lybrate-user, Taking thyroxine tablets in specific dose as prescribed is the only treatment for hypothyroidism. This is a hormone deficiency condition, hence, treatment is lifelong. There is no other option. Thanks.
