Hello, Thanks for the query.
TSH 6.33 mU/L is considered as sub-clinical hypothyroidism. No treatment is advocated at this level. If a person has presence of uncontrolled symptoms even at that value, then L-thyroxine is prescribed.
Clinically hypothyroidism is diagnosed when TSH goes beyond 10 mU/L.
When one is put on Levothyroxine TSH does go down. Normal range is 0.5 to 5 mU/L. In short yes reduction is possible. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.

This happens because your thyroid gland is unable to produce required quantity of that hormone. Since it is needed for many vital metabolic activities in our body plus for normal functioning of brain, hence needs to be supplemented every day (24 hours). Therefore, one has to take the supplementation for lifetime. Your tsh is within normal limit because of th...more

Hypothyroid caused by diminished hormonal availibility will always be kept under control by thyronorm or eltroxin only. Other medicines mentioned have no role. You are supposed to be visiting your doctor periodically, regularly for monitoring tsh levels by blood test and making suitable fixing of dosage of thyronorm life long. There should be no problem.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
TSH 1.86 mU/L during the 28 th week is absolutely fine level. There is really no reason to increase the dosage of thyroxine, because the recommended rangeof TSH is 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L. Thanks.

Making dietary changes is your first line of defense in treating hypothyroidism.
1. Greatly reduce or eliminate caffeine and sugar, including refined carbohydrates like flour, which the body treats like sugar. 2. Up the protein - Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues and enjoying it at each meal can help normalize thyroid function. Proteins include nuts and nut butters; hormone- and antibiotic-free animal products and legumes.
