Hello, Thanks for the query.
Aap ka HbA1c% bahut hi jyada hai. Aap ko diabetes kab se hai? Isake pahale kya treatment tha? Kyo ki, itana jyada HbA1c% hona matalab diabetes kafi mahino se hai. Jo treatment abhi bataya hai usase control hoga ki nahi ye batana mushkil hai. Puri history mujhe aap ne batai nahi hai. Jaise - 1)Kab se diabetes hai? Pahale kya treatment tha? Fasting & after food glucose levels kitane rahte hai (abhi aur isake pahale bhi). Aap ka diet kya kya hai? Her roj vyayam ...more

Hello,

Thanks for your query on Lybrate

"As" per your clinical history is concerned please discuss with your family doctor about the nature of your disease [Type 1 and Type 2], if type 2 then you can take medication as mentioned and if type 1 then you can take insulin regularly. In any case sugar level, 312 is very high at your age and it can deteriorate your heart further.

Hope that helps

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. To calculate eGFR I need to know serum creatinine value. If you have that please inform the same. Because if eGFR is lower than 45 ml/Minute metformin is not recommended. Thanks.

DM disease is linked to high cholesterol because diabetes can affect the different cholesterol levels. Even if blood sugar control is good, people with diabetes tend to have increased triglycerides, decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and sometimes increased low-density lipoprotein (LDL). This increases the likelihood of developing atherosclerosis. So h can see why your doctor has prescribed medicine for cholesterol.

Hello, Vivek, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. From that it is clear that she is on multiple medications. However, there is no mention of herHbA1c%, weight, extent of physical activity, particularly exercises like brisk walking or any other activity plus dietary pattern . It is very essential to concentrate on following aspects - 1) weight control (BMI <23 kgs/Sq meter), 2) Taking a healthy balanced diet like - increased intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and certai...more

Atorvastatin reduces levels of "bad" cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, or LDL) and triglycerides in the blood, while increasing levels of "good" cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein, or HDL). As you can see the statin is given to raise the good cholesterol in her body

Dear lybrate-user kumar,
I would prefer that first you check again your medicine properly. Sitagliptin is not available in 20 mg. And more over I can see glycomet gp1, glyconorm g1, tetagliptin* (mostly teneligliptin) in your details.
And if you are checking your sugar levels with glucometer at home, then I would suggest you check once from laboratory and repeat hba1c also from good laboratory.
Without any clear medical history it will be premature to comment regarding to your curren...more
