Erectile dysfunction affects older men more than younger men. About 1% of men in their 40s, 17% of men in their 60s, and nearly 50% of men 75 or older aren't able to achieve an erection sufficient for intercourse.
Sometimes erectile dysfunction develops gradually. One night it may take longer or require more stimulation to get an erection. Another time, an erection may not be as firm as usual, or it may end before orgasm. When such difficulties occur regularly, it's time to talk to a doctor....more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. I do not know from where you have gathered the information about Telmisartnan causing "kidney damage". In fact these group of drugs (ARBs) and ACE- Is are considered safest of blood pressure reducing drugs. Since your BP is well controlled, there is no reason to reduce the dosage. Telmisartan is shown to reduce proteinuria and help improve Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR), which an indication of kidney function. Thanks.

Please continue amlodipine same 5 mg dose as your bp is just controlled. People with diabetes need strict control of bp as high bp and diabetes both can cause proteinuria (protein leak in urine). Infact, get urine albumin/creatinine ratio to check for proteinuria. Reduce salt intake and watch your weight.
Please call me if you have any further queries.
Thank you.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The values of blood glucose mentioned show that diabetes is fairly controlled. Ideally fasting should be <100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c%<7. As regards BP systolic should be a bit lower, closer to 130 mm. And diastolic closer to 80 mm. TGL level is high. We may have to give a closer look at all the drugs and see if anything can be improved. By simple modifying the lifestyle almost everything can be corrected. Regarding TGL some drug may be required. ...more
