In fact these group of drugs (ARBs) and ACE- Is are considered safest of blood pressure reducing drugs. Since your BP is well controlled, there is no reason to reduce the dosage. Telmisartan is shown to reduce proteinuria and help improve Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR), which an indication of kidney function. Thanks.

Please continue amlodipine same 5 mg dose as your bp is just controlled. People with diabetes need strict control of bp as high bp and diabetes both can cause proteinuria (protein leak in urine). Infact, get urine albumin/creatinine ratio to check for proteinuria. Reduce salt intake and watch your weight.

The values of blood glucose mentioned show that diabetes is fairly controlled. Ideally fasting should be <100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c%<7.
