My nephrologist has prescribed cefalexin 250 mg for painful pimples. Pimples go away after taking it for 5 days. But pimples come back after 2 weeks. I have observed this several times. Any permanent solution?

For starters nephrologists are not the right people to treat pimples. Acne treatment has many factors to consider age, sex, hormone profile, life style, any coexisting disordered. please take proper treatment with a dermatologist.

Hello. I'm 18 year old female. I had pneumonia 4 years ago and since then I have problems with phlegm. Whenever I go to the doctor, she tells me that it's a virus or a flu and she gives me some pills, such as amoxicillin or cefalexin. At the moment, they help me, but the problem is coming back. This makes me very bothered, sometimes I think i'm going to choke. No other symptoms. What can I do?

Your symptoms might be due to damage caused to your lungs during that pneumonia. It's called bronchiectasis. U need a evaluation by a chest specialist who can guide you better. Pneumococcal and swine flu vaccines should be given to you. Meet some chest specialist.

Hi, I broke my nose in a fall. The doctor prescribed 4 different drugs. I can not read the language on the packaging. There was a mix up. He prescribed cefalexin, I thought it was to alleviate stomach pain so I took them for 2 days off and on then stopped. I realised 10 days later my mistake and that they are antibiotics. What should I do?

If you do not have symptoms or open wound. No need of medicine (antibiotics. If there is opem wound. U shd take cefalexin or amoxycillin 500 mg twice post meals for 5 days.

Loose stools happen as a side effect of many antibiotics. As long as baby is not dehydrated, you need not worry. Feed the baby frequently. Use a good nappy rash cream.

I was suffering throat infection. I had taken, cefalexin and amoxicillin 500, antibiotic and levo cetrizine 5 mg, and nasal decongestant drop for a week. Now I am quite well. But I am suffering of tinnitus in ear for last 3 weeks, and it sounds like a high pitch whistling sound in my left ear. And the intensity of sound is not very high, when I am in work, I can't feel it, but in quite place I can feel it. It started 3 weeks earlier, after the onset of infection, on the 3rd day. And now after 3 weeks it is still disturbing me. It is quite disturbing and I am afraid also. Pls help me. Shall I be all right. Also may be it can help. I am very susceptible to cold air. I have mentioned in allergy section. Pls help.

I've been diagnosed with uti after having bad fever (multiple fever cycles a day despite taking acetaminophen) and some vomiting for 3 days even though the typical symptoms (burning, frequent urination, constant need to pee) while urinating subsided (and started after sex) even before the fever started. Urine analysis was positive in bacteria (no specific), nitrites, blood, leucocites and protein. The doctor who I consulted beforehand then prescribed me ciprofloxacin as treatment. By chance I got to speak to another doctor who prescribed me cefalexin. I investigated both and came to a conclusion that ciprofloxacin carries adverse effects which risk I don't feel comfortable taking (especially neuropathy). I don't like to take antibiotics in general, which makes me even more weary about side effects they have. Why one or the other antibiotic and how will the treatment differ? Am I overly paranoid about potential risks? I like to understand why doctors decide for a specific medicine but have not had the luxury of being given any explanation. Hoping that maybe this community gives me some answers. Thank you in advance.
