Dear lybrate-user Sompraz is a acid reflux medicine. I will suggest you to get your motion and acidity in check and not just quit medicine just like that. Also, I believe that your problem is caused by your weight. Is it possible for you to get a personalised diet chart? This will be created to both reduce the weight and control your acid. You can easily quit the medicine in 6-8 weeks if you are on a diet. Please send a private message to me if you want to get a personalised diet chart. If you f...more

Mr. lybrate-user. Sompraz is effective, but ulcer if treatable with medicine 2 -3 weeks course is enough. If more than this duration use is required without relief, then better get upper gi endoscopy.

Sompraz d is an antacid, should be taken in morning, fasting and you should eat breakfast within 30 min to 1 hour of taking tablet. Along with medications, lifestyle modification is important. Avoid foods increasing reflux like sweets, chocolates, carbonated drinks, tea, coffee, oily food and heavy meals. After eating food 2 to 3 hours gap should be there for lying down. No bedtime snacks. Head end elevation 30° while sleeping. No tight clothes. Weight loss to reduce tummy fat.
