Make them learn how to brush properly. Observe them wether they are practicing right techniques for one week. You can use flouridated toothpaste. Apply pea size paste on tooth brush.
Make them brush two times daily and rinse after eating anything.

If there is no relief from sensitivity even after using sensodyne toothpaste then its better to consult a dentist as there are number of causes due to which sensitivity occurs. Cavities in tooth or teeth also can cause sensitivity which can be treated by only filling the tooth or teeth. Gagging it is. Try to keep your head at little down position while brushing. When you look at front or upside while brushing, more chances are there, for the toothpaste or else to go at back and cause gagging. Plus amount of toothpaste you need is of pea size. Avoid excessive usage of that. Try and practise even without toothpaste some other time of the day. If brushing not helping much start with flossing and mouthwash as well.
