Doctor I am 34 year age old female I have backache since last 2 to 3 years but last february 2015, I got severe pain and take doctors advise and mri scan says" diffuse posterior disc bulge with central disc protrusion and bilateral mild facet joint hypertrophy noted l4-l5 level causing mild to moderate bilateral neural foraminal narroiwing. Posterior disc bulge with central disc extrusion noted at l5-s1 level causing mild to moderate bilateral neural foraminal narrowing with impingement of bilateral traversing s1 nerve roots. I taken medicines till last month right now I am not using any medicine but I am using most time waist belt. (following medicine I had used serta, rejunex, gabantin forte, ketoral gel) I request you to sir please advise still I have pain.

My wife is suffering from severe back ache. We consulted a neurologist who asked us to get an mri of the lumbosacral spine. After the mri was done the impression: 1. L4 l5 disc annular bulge super added broad based posterior herbination/ caudal extrusion causing thecal and bilateral l5 neural compressions. 2. l5-s1 disc annular bulge with superadded posterior central and left paracentral herniation /caudal extrusion, causing thecal and left sided s1/bilateral l5 neural compressions. Medicine prescribed: 1. Cap gabantin forte 300 mg 1×10 days 2. Cap nervijen-p 1×10 days 3. Hifenac 100 mg 1 tablet if pain is more advised surgery if pain increases. I would like to know whether surgery is only the way out and also would like to know whether the injury will completely get cured after surgery or should I wait. Normally how much would the surgery cost.

Decision for surgery depends on the
1 whether she has any weakness or sensory deficit in the legs
2 If bladder or bowel symptoms are there
There are other treatment options also for disc prolapse apart from surgery

I am 26 year old female, my height is 5f2i and weight is 58 kg. I have severe buttock to leg pain on 8th of this month. I went to neurologist he suggest me neurobion, sensinor, neuro3 take for a week. My severity of pain was reduced bt there was a pain from ankle to down the feet and my left leg feels heavy then right leg. After 1 week I went to physician she checked and suggested mri scan. In mri the impression was l4-l5 and l5-s1spaces-diffuse lv disc bulges and no significant nerve root compression. Neurologist ask me there was no major problem it can be treated by medicine and he prescribed sensinor and gabantin tablet for 2 weeks. 1 week was completed and there was no change in my leg pain and sometimes I feel my middle of the spine was hurting. I'm not in bed rest and not bending too much, i'm active. Is my problem goes away. please answer.

Ur Mri if normal then ur problem should get released Ed with bed rest for few days followed by muscle strengthening exercises yoga for back

A family member is under treatment for schizoaffective disorder since 10 yrs. Lithium carbazepine risperidone clonazepam apripazole n ativan lorazepam for wen trouble sleeping. She has developed slowness of movement almost walks like penguin n feels rigidness tightness in hips n thigh thus trouble sitting n walking. Her psychiatrist told to do tests serum lithium n carbamazepine were under normal levels Vit b12 normal Only calcium slight lower than normal n vit d3 low Ortho consultation raised query abt extrapyramidal side effects of antipsychotic medication but psychiatrist refuted it. Ortho den gave gabapentin n mecobalamin n ca+vit d improved her walking n stiffness to an extent. I wanted to ask what is the reason for her walking problem n why did she get relief from gabapentin. We were asked to follow up after 15 days. If still stiffness n walking prob to refer neuro physician coz ortho cause was ruled out. I would like to know whats going on with her cause our docs didnt clearly explain d situation? N I cant afford to change docs.

Hi lybrate-user, I would like to say that the symptoms of slowness of movement what you have mentioned in a patient who is on Rispeidone and aripiprazole is most probably EPS (extra pyramidal Side effects) unless proved otherwise. There may be underlying or Co morbid Parkinsons disease. But in this position its difficult to diagnose as the Pt is on antipsychotic. Hello sir mera baby 28 january 2019 ko hua or pregnancy ke 7th month se hi, mujhe severe headache reh raha hai, octiptal region per, pichle ab lagbhag 1 saal se continue pain hai, kitne painkillers khya asar hi nhi hota hai jisme gabapentin nt 100 mg, ultracet sab hai, toh filhaal mein ciplar 20 mg or gabapentin nt 100 mg le rahi kareeb 15 days se le rahi hun or mein breastfeeding bhi kara rahi hun, mujhe kai dino se thad feel jayada ho rahi hai, kya is medicine ka koi side effects toh nhi hai, mujhe abhi bhi headache rehata hai.

Gabantin 300 MG Capsule cannot be taken for prostate enlargement and it is an anticonvulsant which is used in the treatment of epilepsy and postherpetic neuralgia.

I had unprotected gay oral sex many times and I had anal sex one time without condom. I had severe joint paints for 10 days and 10 to 15 rashes some of itchy some rashes are not itchy. I went to blood test but I don't know the correct last exposure. 1.hiv-ab-serum 2.hbsag-serum 3.anti-hcv-serum 4.tpha test for syphilis serum (immuno chromatographic) this all the test are negative. I went for hiv1 and hiv2 antibodies western blot serum test. Hiv1 and hiv 2 antibodies screening test 0.06 index <1.00. (cmia). The result is no viral specific bands detected for hiv1 and hiv 2. These test are taken in private hospitals. I had penis burning while urinating. 1.cab gabantin 300 mg 2.cab doxy 1-100 mg 3.tab panstone 40 mg 4.tab ultracet. These are the tablets I am taking now. My confusion is the hiv test is conclusive or not because I don't know the correct last exposure. Each and every second I am thinking about this and my family also suffering for my mistakes. Please reply me doctors please please.
