Diagnosed with ocd .on daxid 250 mg, sizodon 0.5 mg once in the night and twice in the morning and ativan 1.25 mg in bits and pieces depending on when I feel agitated and feel a searing pain in my legs and an intense feeling of helplessness.in the morning I feel very down and have to have a bit of ativan to feel normal and the searing pain dies down .I have the two sizodon 0.5 mg and one David 100 before I go to office. Towards the end of office I feel uneasy and before sleep I have 100 mg daxid and one sizodon 0.5 mg. I am forced to take half a daxid I.e 50 mg early in the morning at about 4 to feel normal. I do not think the combination is working effectively .can you suggest a better combination which removes this low feeling and this feeling of agitatedmess and my down cast hopelessness mood. And this searing pain in my legs.

Dear lybrate-user,
You are under a psychiatrist who has been treating you with Daxid, Ativan and Sizodon combination. Please consult her/him again with your concern. She/he may increase your Daxid dose or add another tablet for your OCD or add therapy (ERP)
Since you have to attend to your work at office, powerful tranquilizers can not be given in the mornings. Most of OCD and Depression symptoms worsen in the mornings.
All these tablets take some weeks to show improvement.

Clonotril is a benzodiazeine. It has addictive potential. Talk to your doctor to wean off clonotril and try on something else which is non-addictive.

CBT and medications would surely would help. But daxid is not a first choice anxiolytic. Discuss with your psychiatrist or get a 2nd opinion. All the best.

Many Gyne are ignorant in the way, they never understand OCD or for that matter any psychiatric disorder. For OCD you need continuous treatment. Consult your psychiatrist and take minimum effective dose and least number of medications with which you can manage symptoms, (this differs from each individual). Also, you have to discuss the risk-benefit ratio for taking the medications during pregnancy. All the best. If your Gyne is insisting, ask her to give in writing that these medicines need to b...more

Consult a psychiatrist and go to a single medicine, you are taking three medicine of the same group. It would be wise to take single medicine and then plan for pregnancy, knowing the risk benefit ratio. All the best.
