My husband suffered a stroke which was not diagnosed. The doctor prescribed serdep 50. After a month and numerous visits to the doc, I insisted on being referred to a neurologist. After scans etc it was confirmed after being discharged and having lost faith in the original doctor, my husband's blood pressure was very high. He went if to the doc and whilst in the consulting room he had a massive seizure. He was again hospitalized but after scan etc the neurologist said he did not have another stroke. He was again prescribed serdep, start g on half a tablet for 2 weeks then full dose. After the first day on full dose he complained of dizziness and nausea. On the 3rd day after not eating properly, he complained of headaches nausea, lack of appetite, and extreme dizziness. He went to the doctor, his blood pressure was high, as well. The doctor told him to persevere it will get better. Instead of reducing his anxiety it has got worse and he is very miserable. I have been giving him 1000iu of vitamin e and memorex and potassium tablets. He is also on zartan I hope I have put you in the picture. What is your advice thank you in anticipation

Stroke can be of two types. Ischemic and hemorrhagic. Management differs in the two. Ischemic stroke is common. To differentiate between the two, ct brain is needed. High bp itself can cause seizures. Please upload the details so that I csn give you an opinion.

Hi please do not change dosage or stop medicines at will. If you are uncomfortable and feeling any side effects consult your psychiatrist immediately and apprise him of your situation. He will change the medicine or dosage. Take therapy along with medicines. Consistent therapy along with medicines is needed to help you cope with ocd symptoms. Medicines only help control symptoms temporarily, while therapy gives more sustainable results. Take therapy regularly and apply what you learn in therapy ...more

I am sure you have not been getting help from counseling. This is the problem with treatment: you need to combine medication with therapy for good progress. In counseling, you will learn a lot of skills and techniques to deal with your day-to-day challenges. These will stand you in good stead while negotiating life's many difficulties. Medication alone will not give you any skills in this area. After you have had a three-year stint without any symptoms, you can come off of medication but always ...more

You must combine medical treatment with therapy to ideally combat depression. Seek a counselor who is well versed in treating depression to get you to develop skills and techniques to deal with the daily challenges that life throws at you. Medication does not give you these adaptations but it certainly addresses the chemical imbalances in the brain to bring about normalcy. Apart from that you must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, and ...more

Dear unknown,
Dying is not in your hand. Many who attempt suicide don't die. Many who want to live, die.
These tablets are prescribed at a particular dose that will benefit you. If you take in larger dose not only you lose the benefit, you may also face many side effects.
Take these 90 tablets over one month. It will change you thought of dying itself.

Hi lybrate-user.
For removing negative thoughts I can tell you some natural ways to overcome from it .please try and consult some other psychologist/Counsellor of your near by area for face to face consultation which is very much mandatory.
Too much of stress and anxiety leads to panic attacks. Thoughts always come to our mind be it positive or negative. Whenever you get a negative thought, try to divert your mind by taking a short walk or at least going away from the current situation. ...more

Dear patient
Duration of your treatment depends on remission of yours symptoms. If you r stabilised on anti anxiety medications psychiatrist can titrate the minimum maintenance dosage needed by you. But for stop or reduce medications without consulting a psychiatrist.
