please don't change the medication on your own. Discuss your concern with your doctor. Haldol acts at various dose differently. At 0.25 mg dose for tourette syndrome, at 2 - 8 mg dose like risperidone. For insomnia haldol may not be a good choice.

However,these medications differ in their mechanism of action and side effect profiles. The dose of the medications also has to be adjusted for every patient so as to have maximum benefit with minimal side effect.
