I am suffering from htn, dm-2 for the last about 10 yrs. I am taking metformin 1000 mg bd, ramipril 10 mg bd and my conditions are under control. My ecg is normal and have no heart problem. My age is 62 yrs. Dr. has also prescribed atrovastin10 mg hs and ecosprin .75 mg hs even though my lipid profile values are normal. Tell me is atrovastin10 mg and ecosprin .75 mg required to be taken? If yes then reasons and what are the advantages? I am also suffering from bipolar disorder and taking medicines for that.

I am diabetic on insugen 30/70 refill injection, glycomet gp2, ppg 0.3 mg and other drugs. I am also hypertensive on ramipril 5 mg and amlodipine 5 mg. Since last 15 days there is severe itching on the upper side of my penis. I tried previously used creams such as terbinafine (fungotek, fdc). This proved useless. Then I tried mupirocin (t-bact), which is also proved useless. The irritation is just as it is. Please advice what is the correct skin cream and tablets.

Sir please check your sugars may b because of uncontrolled sugar tou have developed fungal infection (balanitis) we can treat it by a course of antifungal tablet for 3 days and antifungal cream for local application but once sugar is under control infection will also settle and will not reappear. If sugar is not controlled we will have to modify your medicines with more safer medicines according to your age and try getting rid of insulin.

My mom is prescribed tab. Quittipine 75 mg morning and 100 mg night and tab. Ramipril 5 mg after noon. She is on this medication since 15 days. From 10 days her pulse rate is about 112 per minute in morning and 123 per minute in evening. After 5p. M. Anxiety increases. She is on tab. Thyroxine 25 mg and tab. Glycomet 500 mg. Please suggest medicine to lower pulse rate and anxiety.

My query is related to hypertension and not on diabetic problem. I am taking the above medicines for last 5 years on hypertension but my hypertension is more than 160/75. It shoots to 175 frequently. I began treadmill jogging exercise for 1 hour every day and then hypertension reduces to about 150/72. If I do not jog for 1 day, hypertension goes back to 160/170. I am consuming ramipril 5 mg + amlodipine 5 mg everyday, once before lunch. The hypertension is not at all reduced with these drugs but only by jogging. I am 60 years old and jogging for 1 hour is very strenuous, leading to knee pain frequently. Suggest replacement drugs for hypertension.

You are very much aware and concerned about your health and doing fine as evident from your description. First thing you should do is to increase the dose amlodipine to 10 mg and regular check of your bp. If if is still not coming down then it would be better to add and/or replace another medicines.

I had DENGUE in Aug. 15 and Virol in Nov. 15. Know I had loss 15 Kgs after nov. 15. I feel more hungry in the morning and I drink 1.5 to 2 ltrs. Of water in the night and drink 3 to 4 Ltrs. Due to severe fever & loose motion, we consult a doctor, he advised that my father gets septicemia & due to taking Tonact 10 & ramistar 5 previously so he advised to admit in hospital. In blood test report wbc 13200, creatine 1.6 & ESR 45. Now he is felling better, no any prob. Feel from heart site, but doctor advice to do ECHO & ANGIOGRAPHY. So, what can I do? I can't understand both test are really need or for business purpose? If we agree for ECHO, & result would be negative, then also ANGIOGRAPHY required? Pls help?

Get echo done. If ecg and echo ok then angio not required. That is req only if chest pain going on and ecg shows fresh changes. Atleast not needed in current admission.

My blood sugar was 190 and BP was 160/90 before 9th october. I was taking medicine GlycometGP1& ramistar 2.5 mg.After 9th October new medicine like Reclide40 mg, under5 mg,Eslo2. 5 mg&Moxovas. 2 mg.My present test reports sugar 303 fasting 505 pp. I would like to know if new medicines of Diabetes and hypertension have increased sugar level. While my creatine is 2.74 which was same as before 9th october. HbAC was 8.6% on 9th october. Pl advice.
