there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc.
1. Redness + itching: allergy
2. Redness + pain + watering + decreased vision: infection
3. Redness + pain: inflammation
4. Redness foreign body sensation: dryness

Dont use fml, as it can cause recurrence of herpes if not used along with antiviral pills. You must b suffering from dry eyes after the infection.
Kindly use artificial tears only, if redness doesn't go kindly consult ophthalmologist to get checked for recurrence.

Do one thing get ANU TAILAM (AYURVEDIC MEDICINE) OR SHAD BINDU TAIL from ayurvedic store from an recogonised pharmacy not local get this oil luke warmed by heating it indirectly into warm water you have to use it as nasal adminstration 2 drops in each nostril.
May sound strange but try it 8 out of 10 patients gets benifitted by this.
This is described as nasya karam in ayurvedic texts.
