Hello, I am 57 years old and my fasting blood sugar level is 122 and pp 215. My weight is ~83 kgs. My doctor says I am diabetic and has put me on sugar free diet and medication of (tenepride p) teneligliptin 20 mg. And pioglitazone 15 mg. Tablets twice a day. Please suggest if the diagnosis and line of treatment is ok?

I am a diabetic since last 5 years. Aged now 41 years. earlier I was taking 1mg of glimepride+ 500mg of metformin in morning and 30mg of pioglitazone during night. Due to ban of pioglitazone use now I am taking same medicine in morning and 1/2 tab of glim+met during night. When I have tested last time (35 day back) fasting was 90 & ppg was 120. Now what I fill that my waste size reducing gradually. please advise. I am playing football at least 30 minutes alternatively. Please help.

please give following details: weight, height, waist circumference, fasting and pp (current) and hba1c%. Pioglitazone was banned only briefly, now it is available. Still better not to use. After I get all the details I would be able to guide. Your sugar levels now look good. But please give all the details.

Dear sir, will it be better to switch over to pioglitazone 15 mg in lieu of teneligliptin 20 mg. Since my hba1c is 6.1.lipid alright. S. Creatinine 0.91.sgpt 43 sgot 33 ul. Fbs 107 pps 136. I am on teneligliptin 20 mg for 3 years, repace 50 mg, novastat 10 mg. Weight 58 kg, height 5.11 inch. On moderate diet. Only 3 chappatis at night. I am a diabetic for eleven years. Please suggest whether gliptin can be replaced by pioglitazone.

Sir, I am a diabetic for a decade. Hba1c 6.2.lipid, kidney and liver profiles are normal. On novastat 10 mg, teneligliptin 20 mg, benidipine 8 mg, pioglitazone 7.5 mg. My fasting blood sugar 110 and ppg 135. B.p 116/79. For a month I have been suffering from neck mild pain, shoulder and upper back ribs pain and mild knee pain. I went to a cardiologist and ecg is normal. I was on pregabalin but I stopped becoz of edema or swelling as I am taking pioglitazone. Please suggest treatment for pain which I have mentioned. My egfr is normal. Weight 57 kg. Height 5.11.on diet compliance. Brisk walk daily.

Serum creatinine 0.86.microalbumin creatinine ratio 0.079.fbs 124 pps 133 .my doctor has suggested to take pioz 15. Can I take pioglitazone as it has many safety concerns. Moreover I am a diabetic for 11 years. Can I take pioglitazone for long. On moderate diet. 40 minutes brisk walk plus yoga. Night food only three chappatis. Please give your good advice and suggestion.

Your diabetic profile looks good. Since you are a long term diabetic and on pioglitazone for long period, you can be given equally good drug with less of side effects.

My doctor has suggested to take pioz 15 after dinner. Can I take pioglitazone as it has safety concerns. I am a diabetic for 11 years. My kidney profile and lipid normal. Urine. Microalbumin creatinine ratio is 0.079.serum creatinine 0.86.on moderate diet, brisk walk 40 minutes. Night food only 3 chappatis. Please suggest as I am concerned for taking pioglitazone.

Hello, it seems like your sugar is well under control which is evident from hba1c value of 6.1.
Even other parameters are also normal so you can skip pioglitazone.
