Dear sir, there is no conclusive evidence that it Hydroquinone is definitely related to cancer or not. But cosmetic products do contain chemicals and should be user with caution. Any burning sensation or allergic reaction, it should be discontinued.

Hydroquinone is not a steroid, it is a phenol derivative used to treat hyperpigmentation. It is not safe to use for a long time. For active pimples use clindymycin/ b.peroxide/ adapalene cream or whatever cream used earlier prescribed by a dermatolgist. Start treatment of pih once the lesions of acne are gone and fully treated. Thanks.

Using hydroquinones for an extended period of time can cause darkening called exogenous ochronosis, which is difficult to reverse. You need an evaluation by a board certified dermatologist to determine what the condition of your skin is and how to treat it.
