In your case, your obesity is more dangerous than any medication, so do not worry about clonam. Also, your worries are part of anxiety disorder - no need to work on every thought. Keep taking the medications as your disorder will cause more harm than medications. If you are very concerned, consult a psychiatrist who is available near you.

You history is not clear ocd symptoms are repeated unwanted thaught, images, ideas & compulsive behaviour like hand washing repeated, checking behaviour like knot of doors ,knob guess cillender like that ,dirty aexual thought about close family members n god so it simple to rule out &/ ocd is associated with comorbid anxiety symptoms .so reconsult your psychaiatrist. Don't worry it will be treated.

Since he is already on medication I suggest you talk to your treating Psychiatrist and convey his current symptoms to them. It is possible that some changes in medication dosages will help improve the symptoms. As they are familiar with his history it is always better to have a discussion with them regarding this situation.

Dear lybrate user,
thank you for writing to us. I can understand your concern about medication's effectiveness for curing your anxiety.
Petril (clonazepam) is used to treat anxiety disorders. It is proven effective drug for anxiety. Sleep disturbance is one of the symptoms of anxiety disorder.
There are other primary anti anxiety medications like ssri, snri and tca. There is a strong scientific research evidence for these medicines for anxiety treatment.

Dear Alpana,
Petril being a benzodiazepine drug, you may become dependent on it. When you are not depressed, avoid petril. If depressed, go in for antidepressant.

Hi I am having anxiety disorder since 13 years. Taken so many medicine from psychiatrist. Had to changed no of psychiatrist. Before consulting psychiatrist I had consult so many general and medicine doctor. I don't know I was confused or they made me confused. I found one psychiatry. I has given heavy doses of medicine. And rightly so. I was at the peak of the disease and that there is only one thing death. Those meds helps little. Finally I move to other state to start business because of some personal problem. One incident happened in my life and after that I lost faith in everything. From that moment I don't care I live or die but have to do something for the family so I started business.ì feel good now. But I kept taking tablets. I was not in contact with my doctor. Recently I read one of the tablets which I am consuming may lead to death. I was happy in business. But due to lighten I became alone and again it started. Currently I am taking daxid 100 thrice a day. Clonam 2 mg (clonazepam) twice a day, tenormin 25 mg once, fibator 10 mg once, inderal 20 mg once, ciladuo 5 mg once. I am taking clonazepam 2 mg twice a day since 8 years, similar case with daxid. However now I am only taking daxid twice a day. Withdraw qutan 25. Now the anxiety is about what will happen next as I am taking these tablets since 8 years. Pls pls pls somebody help me. I have gone through immense mental pain. Dosent get any help. I lost my precious 13 years by sitting in one corner of the room. I want to get rid of this. Its beyond imagination for any one to understand what I had gone through. Any one pls show me the way.

Keep taking medicines, and consult with psychiatrist after lockdown is lifted. If you don't take medications your symptoms will come up again, and that would be much much harmful than the side-effects of the medications you took all those years. All the worries you have - discuss with the doctor. But, keep in mind that these worries might be part of your anxiety disorder - hence, all of he worries need not be taken seriously.

Dear, Kindly go to the psychiatrist you visiting for your complaints. Who gave you the prescription to use lonazep 0.25 since 2 years. You might be feeling some vertigo but your doctor will clarify you whether its a symptom due to medication usage or is it a vertigo. If possible visit an Ent doctor too. Get well soon.

You seem to be suffering from anxiety disorder rather than a psvt. Loazep (clonazepam) is a powerful anxiolytic, but is not advisable in such high doses as you use over a long period of time, as it produces cognitive changes, disinhibition, personality changes, etc. Anxiety also produces hypertension. I suggest you to consult a psychiatrist and gradually reduce clonazepam, which will be replaced with ssris as necessary. Ciplar on a longer run can be taken. All the best.
