All psychotropic drugs have side-effects: mild with some and severe with others. There are medicines to treat the side-effects too. But now the choice is whether the main problem is more serious than the side-effects. In that case, you will need to take the medication anyway. You can minimize the effects by being on therapy too and doing regular exercise, sleep well, deal with your feelings, eating a healthy diet, and living a stress-free life.

Since You are a heart patient, it is advisable for you to take medications that have least effect on the heart. Paroxetine is a SSRI, which is considered to very safe for heart patients. On the other hand Zapiz is Clonazepam which is a benzodiazepine which should be used on a short term basis. They should not be taken for more than 4 weeks as they may cause dependence. Hello Lybrate user. As you told that you r different from anxiety and you were on paroxetene 25 mg ans clonazepam 0.25 in whole day. It is basic treatment of anxiety which I also give to my patients. As you have told that you felt stiffness in body as went to the treating doctor again, why he decreased the dose is best known to him only. Yes the medicines will help you and you are getting better as you yourself said. These medications should continue for at least 1 to 2 years after complete recovery. Don't stop them without consulting your Psychiatrist. A home you can practice breathing exercises and learn relaxation techniques from the internet and do them at home. Am sure all this along with the medication you'll be fine very soon.
